I am 8 inches taller and out weight him by 40 pounds. Everyone was laughing at me. but my arms hurt too much .**** it. Did I do the right thing?

It's just a boxing match.. in the amateurs. Not worth my future career imo.

I remember having a sparring match with my friend (who boxed previously and won a bronze in an mma tournament) to help take pictures for my art project, we warmed up on the bag before hand and I damaged my right bicep because I was stupid and didnt warm up properly trying to out do him on the bag

Anyways I couldnt throw a right hand and couldnt follow up on my jab but I didnt quit and decided to cover up in a turtle shell, move to the side and caught him with a jab on his way in followed up by a left hook to the body to reset . . . . . unfortunately he caught on and grabbed me on the way in after a punch but we still got a few rounds in ( also was in his back garden so I kept catching my leg on the ****ing plant pot  )

Anyways theres no real shame in quitting from an injury and I dont know the full extent of your injury as you said it was both your arms but im assuming this fight would have been 4 rounds total (2 min rounds) If I had that reach and height advantage over my opponent it would have been easier to keep at range and pick him off with the jab, side step and throw a hook to the head on the way out, jab to the body whilst hes on the backfoot

Hope your arms heal up and you can come back, especially in the amateurs its a learning experience so each fight makes you a little bit better, win or lose.
