I was 12. I was super excited about it, but since Hagler struggled with Duran, and Hearns beat Duran so easily, and at 12 1+1=2 and its simple, I committed the same mistake as I did when Hearns beat Duran=Duran beat Leonard who beat Hearns , so never mind that Hearns beat Benitez who beat Duran at that weight: I thought Hearns was going to beat Hagler!

We watched the fight at my family's apartment. Fights were broadcast free of charge all over Puerto Rico then, no pay per view or closed circuit.

I had just gotten out of the service two weeks prior. I anticipated this fight but was a relatively new fan. I asked around who would be playing the fight, if there were any closed circuit venues around. There was nothing playing it. I checked out local bars to see if any were playing it. I found one on fight day. April 15th, 1985 tax day! I got there early, got a good seat. This is the first boxing match I sought out and planned to see. One problem, by time the telecast got started they were having satellite problems. The satellite man was working on the roof throughout the entire telecast. In short, I got to listen to Hagler vs Hearns live! Later, I watched the HBO replay at a friend's. Happy Hagler vs Hearns 40th anniversary everyone. They should make this a national holiday, every year on tax day!

I seem to recall that the fight's publicist was Irving Rudd and he arranged for them to do a commercial tying the fight into remembering to pay your tax. Ended with Marv saying something like 'You just worry about me, Hearns.'

That may have been the only time Marvin talked to Tommy the whole pre-fight tour. Tommy really wound him up but they ended up good friends.

There's a ridiculous video on Youtube saying Tommy is critically ill. There's one about Larry Holmes too. I'm 99.9% sure they're clickbait nonsense but does anyone have any idea how Tommy is doing, please?

I won't watch them because according to them every boxer is credically ill. I guess they are click bait. I don't trust them. Bobby Czyz needs our help though. He had cancer on his face and needs reconstructive surgery. I guess he is getting cancer treatments too. There is a go fund me for him. He needs our prayer too.

I went to Puerto Rico a couple years ago. Really liked it. It was in January and the weather was 80 degrees and I was swimming in the ocean outside. Where I'm from, it's freezing in January

I went years ago for a college basketball tournament.

Was there on Thanksgiving and me and a friend went for a walkabout to find something close to a traditional holiday meal. Ended up at an Irish pub and they had turkey and dressing, all the fixings. And it was damned good, too!

Had a great time. I’d love to go back some day for a big fight.

I was watching it with my dad and can remember him saying that there was no way Hearns would be able to hurt Hagler and then just seconds into the fight, Hearns landed that right hand and it was on!!!. 9 minutes or so later we realized that we saw something special.

Also one of the match where you can see Hagler actually having to get sneaky so that he can wear out Hearns, you can see em low blows connecting.

But tbh, looking at Tommy's chin I think he could only go to round 5 max, otherwise Hagler beats him up to death.

Those vids are filth. I would assume both are fine. If I come across anything to confirm either way, I will post here.

The Unborn. Nice creepy title for a horror movie.

Did you perhaps at least qualify as being in the belly, even if only a Zygote?

That’s a creepy word too, working that in - The Night Of The Living, Unborn Zygotes! Trade marked. Ding.

I saw those clickbaits! There is one about Tito Trinidad too and several about Hollywood stars, including Sylvester Stallone.
