Curious to see what the responses are. Degale winning on the road was expected, although Bute by upset had turned into a bit of a trendy pick here. Bute boxed well, but Chunky was the rightful winner. And, of course, Fury winning in Germany vs Wlad. No further explanation necessary. How far back do you have to go? Froch? Calzaghe? Hatton-Tszyu? Lennox? :think
Nah. Fury won, but he's nothing special. Wlad's just ridiculous, so afraid to throw, he was beating his ass in the twelth, Fury was holding on. Wlad looked TERRIBLE. I didn't see anything special from Fury. Lennox was better than any of the current British champs, and I'm pretty sure the British are prouder of him that they are of having all the champs they have know.
I give DeGale big props for going to people backyards and beating them on their own turf. That takes bravery.
For sentimental reasons, Bruno beating McCall. For best outright - Lewis rightfully getting the decision over Holyfield in fight 2 after being robbed in the first fight.
You don't have to like Wlad or Fury, but Fury beating Wlad in Germany immediately ranks up with the best British heavyweight wins ever. I don't know which others besides Lennox-Holyfield would be in the running for it, all things considered.
Greatest event win in UK heavyweight history, to be fair Every year, another minute gets added to the reported time that Ali bought via the cut gloves.
Undisputed, IMO the most important word in boxing today. As far as Fury-Wilder goes, nothing builds anticpation like a signed contract. Then we have two former Olympic champions waiting in the wings. How about a Povetkin-Joshua eliminator? Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua would be the biggest fight in UK history.
