Today: Lou DiBella Destroys PBC Haters On New Podcast (Funny)

I heard this one a while back. Lou is right. Back when GBP and Top Rank was soaking up all the venues and squeezing out the little guy no one said ****. Al Haymon leveled the playing field and all the obvious suckers started crying. Kathy Duva just wants some Haymon black ****.

 

I too forget Don King exists sometimes.

 

I listened to it. Lou came off very defensive. He answered questions that were never asked in a defensive manner. He also interrupted his own answers with more defensive things to say that didn't have anything to do with the question asked or his the answer he started with.

Funnily enough, it's not just PBC fighters that benefit from the spending spree.

While the primary winner is Al getting a 20% cut off of each fight he signs, there's a cottage industry of puppet promoters that have to be in place since Haymon can't technically promote fights.

What that means is that those promoters are getting nice paychecks for doing no work. This is a big reason why their paid live audiences aren't great most of the time- promoters simply cut the overhead expenses they traditionally had to spend to promote and build interest in the fight. PBC handles the advertising. Promoters are getting the easiest paydays they've ever had thanks to PBC, and PBC can't cut them out of the food chain.

 

This should be good. He ripped Oscar and Hopkins about 6 months ago for saying that Lou Dibella was one of Haymon's "shill" promoters.

 

Dibella biggest gripe with Golden Boy is when they did that contract with Barclays. Do you remember that? Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Golden Boy lock out every other promoter from fighting at Barclays or something? Oscar from fuggin East LA comes to New York (Dibella Turf) and tries to bury old Lou.
