Does this man ever stop??? True to form for Arum the intent in his madness always comes to light.

As we all know it was ruled in 2006 that Manny would be promoted by Bob Arum and Top rank despite having signed with Oscar DeLahoya and GBP. In the ruling it was stated that GBP would get a percentage of all Pac fights for as long as he is with Top Rank and/or Bob Arum. Well it appears that Arum is using this whole drug testing thing to re-open that ruling and have the judgement thrown out by stating that GBP acted wrecklessly by saying that Pac was on PED. the Comments were suppose to be made to Ronnie Nathanielsz of the Manila Standard by Richard Schaefer. Problem is the Manila Standard never ran the story nor has Nathanielsz conformed the statement to anyone other then Arum, and wouldnt comment.

So the question here is who has more to gain if the fight doesnt happen??? Arum or GBP??? GBP who stand to get a percentage of both fighters money, or Arum who gets only a percentage of Pac's. Not to mention that if they could get a judge to rule in thier favor then Pac would no long have to pay the percentage to GBP at all.

As I said this story is getting more interesting by the day. With all the backdoor moving and hidden agendas. :hey

So Arum wouldn't want to maximize his own gains on the most lucrative ever fight in the history of the sport ???

It's not like Manny will have many fights left in the sport to make up for it...that's been known for a while now...

I don't see it like the following but a major pro-Pacman fan could easily twist it the other way and say:

GBP has a percentage of promotional rights for the next 4 Mayweather fights. Do they really want to risk Floyd getting knocked out by Manny which therefore may somewhat diminish the potential of their next ''money fights'' ?

Bob Arum still has a lot of New York street mafioso in him at his old age. Leopards don't change their spots. This senile Brooks Brothers suit wearing gangster continues to have an ongoing 40 year feud with that other gangster Don King. Ridiculous. Pray tell; Arum being raided by the FBI, penalized $125,000 by the NSAC for bribery, boxers calling Arum every name in the book from a thief to a snake in the grass, it's no wonder this spectacle Arum has created may ruin one the the greatest fights we could ever see. Like I said previously, one of Manny's mistakes in being hooked up with a con artist who would make Bernie Madoff proud.

Im not really sure what your getting at, but I will say this. Its to Arum benefit to not have the fight at the present time. If he could somehow use this to his advantage and get GBP out of his pocket when it comes to his fights with Pac I expect he would try. I have never heard a single fighter that has fought his entire career under Arum happy, even his current top fighters have wanted to get away from him. Its being reported that he is already making record percentages from Pac for a promoter, and if he could get GBP out of the way he would stand to make even more.

GBP stable is FULL Sure floyd is right now the highest paid fighter and top PPV draw but they have others, unlike Arum who is running a three headed stable that has Pac, Pavlik and the fastly sliding Cotto. Two of the three that wanted to leave. So would they want to risk a fight with Pac...Sure they would, why not??? Floyd isnt going to be with GBP long anyways, so if they can be apart of a 100 million dollar PPV instead of a couple 25 million dollar ones what do they have to lose???

:huh What are you talking about ??? It's the other way around..... Floyd came back after retirement and signed a 5 fight deal with GBP as a co-promotional partner for his fights...

Pacquiao on the other hand has made it quite clear many times that he wants to premanently retire from the sport very soon, possibly right after his next fight....

Knowing the above, if I'm Arum I want to milk the last possible revenues coming from my star boxer Pacquiao. INTENTIONALLY saying NO to grossing possibly $300-400 million for maybe one last fight is ridiculous.

On the other hand, if Floyd is truly boxing's real cash cow, then there's at least 4 guaranteed fights left to cash in with. In other words, they have time to make up for that income...(Low risk / Good reward fights)

If Mayweather would happen to right away get knocked out by Pacman, then that MAY diminish the total income being generated by the following 3 fights and it's easy to undertsand that...
