in the light of some good drugs going around causing people to believe that RJJ is still relevant today and stands a chance against calzaghe i've decided to see where the people of ESB stand on this encounter.

personally i'd like both to retire unless this fight could be made. sure they're both past their primes but a grudge match is a grudge match, regardless of age and i'd like to see this spat settled once and for all.

so, does hops gain a degree or revenge for that defeat all those years ago? or does roy rub more salt into the wounds?

BHop much more impressive against Calzaghe than Jones was against Tito

    Agreed.

I maintain that Hopkins would beat Jones at this stage, but I highly doubt we'll ever see this one come to fruition.

It depends. Hopkins clearly aged in his last fight. If father time continues to hamper him, RJJ might just beat him. I would actually favor RJJ because of that.

Father time caught up to RJJ 5 years ago, so I go with BHOP. Beating a fat, shot, overweight Tito does not mean you're back on top.

I'm going with Jones on this one, Hopkins would have beat Roy easily a few years ago but his work rate has dropped way too much now.

Well, i think the fight will never happen, due to money troubles and these two just never agree on terms

But I'd go for Jones, pot shotting his way to a UD

Yeah, but a few things to consider. RJJ still has blazing hand speed and he won't be overwhelmed by Hopkins' work rate. Both guys actually help each other because both guys do not do well against high workrate guys right now due to their age. So it would probably be a boring boxing contest. But RJJ can still put together combinations as well as anyone when he decides to let them go. And RJJ is the naturally bigger guy with more power.

My prediction is based on the assumption that father time would continue to hamper Hopkins' stamina. If it doesn't, i would favor Hopkins. And RJJ simply did not go for the KO against Tito. He could've easily taken him out had he stepped on the gas.
