Today's heavyweights are the best by far over past great fighters.

Wladimir Klitschko is 6'6", 240 Lbs. His record is 50-3-0-44

Nikolai Valuev is 7'0", 330 Lbs. His record is 48-1-0-34

    Rulan Chavaev is 24-0-1-16.

These fighters would easily beat Louis and Marciano, and Dempsey and Liston. I think they would beat Ali to.

    Need I say more?

Wladimir beat bigger and stronger men for most of his career. Louis beat weaklings with far worse records, and was dropped or taken the distance by many of them. Chagaev is undefeated and beat Valuev who was undefeated in 46 fightts. Did Louis, Liston, Marciaino or any of those guys beat such men.

These guys are better than those giys

    Obviously.

I wont argue with you in future.

I might pretend to hold a diferent opinion while talking to everybody else on this site, but of course I will just be toying with them.

Ruslan Chagaev, Nikolay Valuev and Wladimir Klitschko are way too unproven at this point to be compared to most household great fighters.

Valuev, good jab, granite chin, and good workrate for his size, slightly above average power, horrible on the inside, doesnt use his size effectively, and proved he could be outboxed by a one trick pony in Chagaev, also had a very close match against a washed up Ruiz. He would be outboxed and beaten to the punch by Liston, Dempsey, and Ali especially, I see all 3 taking him to a decision and winning easily, Demsey loved to take apart big fighters, he would have the best chance of laying the Giant Valuev out.

Chagaev, his right hooks his only good punch, has decent footwork, and good chin, though Bigcat will tell you the stories of him being knocked out in sparring, and being outboxed by Sam Peter, above average power, and average stamina. Ali would own him outside and pick him off with the jab when he decided to lung in as he usually does against the bigger fighter. Liston would eat him alive with his 80+ reach, and would time with a straight from a distance. I see Dempsey going punch for punch with him and laying him out, more power, better punch selection.

Wlad, great power, questionable stamina, good hand speed, glass chin, and lacks toughness at the top level, been knocked out by journeymen. I see Liston making him **** himself during the staredown, Liston would come out and look for the knockout early, knowing Wlad has trouble with fighters with power and aggression, I see Liston putting him into a panic attack and after a few knockdowns the ref will wave it off. Dempsey would have a field day with Wlad, he would blast Wlad out from the opening bell, via Sanders. Ali/Wlad would be a pretty competitive fight early, with Ali giving up rounds in hopes of tiring Wlad down the stretch, I see Ali catching Wlad when he's tired, somewhere around 9th or 10th, and systematically getting the knockout or ref stoppage.

How would today's heavyweights deal with the speed of Ali or his ring intelligence, not to mention the fact that the past greats had no trouble going 15 rounds at a good pace, many of today's heavyweights struggle with 12 rounds at a slower pace. Also a lot of today's heavyweights don't take as many chances as past greats or close the show like the old legends did.

    Oh common,

He clearly presents himself as an expert who's knowledge vastly surpasses our own. For him to just say that fighters of today are better than fighters of all other periods requires no backup. Only the testimony of the one who makes the claim...right?

..........Please; man, how long have you been here? You can't spot a troll who's out for a little fishing? He's not even trying very hard to disguise it. Getting into a serious argument with this guy is exactly what he wants. You're being played for chrissakes. :-(

I was being sarcastic in my last post, and felt that I wasn't trying very hard to disguise it myself.
