Ali dose not belong in the same ring as Valuev....Vlad would outjab Ali and not even use the right hand the whole night just the jab and the hook which would drop Ali everytime it hit him. Marciano would be punching Valuev's knee the whole night and Povetkin would have beaten Joe Louis in his 10th pro fight. Shannon Briggs would scare Dempsey out of the ring before they even landed a glove and Jack Johnson would easily be outpointed by Chris Byrd....is there anything else left to say

I agree, guys like Ali or Mike Tyson are too small to face the giants like Lewis or the Kilts.

All the current champs would be a handful for anybody, any era. That is not to say they would be favorites against the greats, just live underdogs at the worst. Though I give Wlad a chance to beat most of them and a better chance than many here to beat the sanctified canon of great heavies.

 

it is difficult to compare fighters of different eras I happen to think that Holyfield, Lewis and Tyson were as good as any. Riddick Bowe as well. The Best now, would have to be the Klitschkos. I also think that Povetkin will be a good one too. I donot think that either Klitschko has a stamina problem there is no reson to think that unless he has had something wrong with his diet in the past. Blood sugar imbalance leads to fatigue more than anything. Vlad with his great amatuer background plus his size and athletic ability makes him a tough out for anyone no matter what era. Also Liston did not have an extensive amatuer background, that is why Ali was able to outbox him so easily. Louis was self made, he couldn't even jump rope when he started at an older age while he was working at a Ford assembly plant. Patterson was a very good boxer a little small but very good. You also have to consider Max Baer a very good athlete for his day. Just partied too much. Larry Holmes was great and Gerry Cooney was better than people thought, he needed a different trainer than panama lewis and he was reported to be drunk inside the ring If he had taken Prozac who knows what he would have done.

 

They might beat them at table tennis because of their reach advantage but thats about all.

Wladimir would have been knocked out by most of the contenders not only from the power punching packed 90's era, but the the 60s and 70s also. He is a joke of a champion, unfortunately

Wladamir is a fine champion but in a talent packed era he would get mixed results.
