I am very very impressed with his boxing skills. This fight help him truly show how good a boxer he is, and he is pretty darn incredible. I seriously dont see Adonis beating Kovalev, Kovalev seems to have no exploitable weaknesses at this point. How are you going to beat the guy? If Hopkins couldnt outbox him, who can? Andre Ward is calling out GGG, now he better start calling out Kovalev. I believe Ward is unbelievably skilled, but to be honest, I cant see him beating Kovalev, that guy seems invincible right now. Now, what I really wanted to say is the the amount of respect I have for Hopkins now is extremely high. This may not have been the younger version of Hopkins, but the passion he showed tonight was incredible. After so many years in the sport, this guy still love boxing, and would fight until he is 100 if his body could take it. That last round with Kovalev was unreal, the man didnt hold and I was just praying that the referee wouldnt stop it, because Hopkins deserved to get out without being stopped. I mean, the guy is almost 50, and he has never been stopped in his career. He is almost 50, and proved that he could be 36 minutes in the ring with a monster like Kovalev in his prime, and that is just what boxing is about. Boxing is about doing something unbelievable, something inspiring, and Hopkins truly did that tonight. After the fight, even though he lost, he looked fulfilled, he was very classy in the interview, it seemed like he had realized something that made him achieve peace. Im sorry, I know Im writing a lot, but this fight was truly something special, Im we were all able to enjoy watching it live, this is truly something Ill tell my grandchildren.
Ward will be KO'ed in 3 by Kovalev once he tries to exchange with Kov out of sheer anger after getting banged in the head bone a bunch. In 8 with GGG after a slow dismantalization. He won't fight them though because he is a prima donna duck who is just getting rusty, not that his best would help that much. Ward has no name recognition anyway. This would really do little to help eithers career because it's like Ward who?
It's true Hopkins' paranoia and stubborn streak could sometimes see him make some bad choices in terms of his career but he was never out of the ring as long as Ward and even when Hopkins wasn't getting the big fights he accepted smaller paydays to keep busy.
No doubt. Ward is packing china in that mandible of his and Kovalev would expose his fragile whiskers!
Don't put Hopkins in the same category as Ward. Hopkins would fight anyone, as he said last night. Hopkins has guts.
