Not impressed, $40 for two fights, just over an hour and a half. Expected to see some earlier fights from the undercard after the early finish.

Or am I moaning about nothing?

No you're not. I didn't buy it. I knew that Cotto would use Gomez like a punching bag. That being said, he deserves an easier fight. His level of competition has been stellar. The Light Heavyweight card was much better.

Might be worth ringing up and complaining guys. Far better than just whinging on here (and I'm not having a dig at you lads). You never know, you might get a refund. At least they'll know that the coverage was rubbish.

Same boat as me, although I only saw one fight worth watching. I'd have bought the Lgt Heavy card if it was offered.

Yeah i would have been happy if they showed at least Jesus Rojas from the undercard.
He is a guy definitely worth keeping an eye on down at Super Bantam in the future.

The thing is, they advertised it as a 4 hr card. Was more than a little annoyed when it finished around the 90 minute mark. Did speak to someone at Foxtel about another issue later and brought up the PPV but they had no idea. Will call Main Event tomorrow and ask for a please explain. My point is they surely had some idea that is wasn't a 4hr card, so why advertise it as such.

Value wise, yeah, had a fair idea of the outcome but Sunday boxing PPVs are becoming a regular get together at my place and unless its absolutely woeful, I'll continue to buy them. But just the two fights on a card is a bit shitty.

90 minutes is a joke really, for $40. I'd put it fair up them mate. See what kind of answer you get. Tell them you buy every card, and as a regular paying customer, you're not happy.

Yeah i feel the same, they should have shown at least 1 maybe 2 undercard fights with young prospects.
Otherwise they should have only charged $30 instead.

I would rather watch two good fight though, then a whole card full of crap eg, Mundine v Green. That said, its very debatable whether or not those were good fights. Cintron is pretty poor, and put up a very bad performance, totally outgunned. I bought the card because Miguel Cotto is my favourite fighter, and i expected him to put on a brilliant performance. He did JUST THAT. Sometimes it is nice to see just how good the top guys really are. Cotto looked f*cking superb in there. He is growing more and more as a fighter, and now has supreme confidence in his boxing ability. I am convinced, that we have yet to see the best from Miguel Cotto. I was literally in awe watching the way he absolutely TOYED with Gomez. PBF recieved accolade for destroying and outclassing Gatti. Gomez is better then THAT version of Gatti, put up MUCH more of a fight then THAT version of Gatti, and Miguel was totally in control. He never looked to stop him early, and was just enjoying being in the ring. Elite level World Class fighter, and IMO a better fighter then PBF. PBF is being hailed by the fan boys as a great. I'll tell you this much. He ain't no SRL, ain't no RJJ, ain't no Pernell Whitaker and he has an abundance of flaws, which Cotto will surely expose. With Calzaghe getting on, JMM and Pac as well, Cotto along with guys like Mijares are going to be the future of the sport.

Whats great about Cotto, is that boxing has been riddled in recent years with champions who either didn't have exciting styles, or have managed to avoid fighting the best for large periods of time (Calzaghe & Hopkins until recently, Roy after SMW, PBF after 135). Cotto not only has an EXTREMELY fan friendly style, but is a fighter genuinely commited to fighting tough opponents, who is supremely confident in his own ability. How can you not like him as a fighter? As well as this, he brings to the sport a degree of sportmanship, finally moving away from the Ali wannabe's (Zab, PBF, Roy to an extent as well). Yet he is still an exciting figure within the sport.

He has now developed into a hybrid fighter, who is MUCH more confident in his ability to box. I think he took a lot out of the Mosely fight especially. By showing that he could box against a guy whom EVERYONE thought would be the faster, technically better fighter, he has now realised that he doesn't need to be a pure pressure fighter. Instead, he is a TRUE boxer puncher, who will beat you both inside and outside. Cotto is STILL not yet prime, and is learning with each and every fight. He will convincingly beat Margarito, in a brutal fight... He will convincingly beat the other welterweight contenders... And when he finally gets Mayweather, he will win, and in far more impressive fashion then most people would expect. Mayweather has made an extremely bad choice, by holding off on this one... His inactivity, coupled with Cotto's steady improvement will lead to his demise.
