Ok one simple straight forward answer please. Question - Who has Wladimir Klitschko fought that would get into any top 10 heavyweight listing in the 70's , 80's or 90's, oh and you cannot include Ross 'the boss' Puritty , Corrie 'Golden Bear ' Sanders or Ray '141 years old' Mercer Now think carefully , because as I have said I know the history.
Are you in a special ed class somewhere?! Seriously...Wlad today is way better then the Brewster fight...Wlad of today would destroy anyone he lost to...Respond to my points and this time read them carefully... atsch
and his jab is pawing to say the least. are you out of your mind??!! Wlad has the best jab in the history of boxing..
people who mention Wlad's name in the same breathe as a great gore of the ring like Joe Frazier, are totally demented so Wlad is able to dismantle and take apart the awful crop of heavyweights around today by using his ridiculous height, and reach advantage..... against joe this would be completely nullified.... Frazier by destruction.
This is already in the classic forum. My opinion: I take Wlad via late stoppage (10th round). Here's why: Anyone in their right mind know knows that Joe can't box w/ Wlad from the outside. Hence, Joe has to get inside. Joe needs to go to the body and try to wear Wlad out. Wlad has been prone to some stamina problems especially if this is a 15 rounder. There are three reasons I think Joe will not be able to get inside: 1) Wlad has a lethal left hook which he can be 6 inches away from his opponent and KO them. See the Charles Shufford fight. If Wlad lands this on Joe I see Joe being extra cautious from then on (that's if Joe doesn't get knocked out from the first one). That means Joe will be fighting from the outside most of the fight. 2) Wlad has strategically developed his clinch and uses it to his advantage. How so? He uses his weight to sap energy out of his opponent by putting his weight on them. He sometimes will lean on the backs of his opponent (yea i know this is illegal, but effective). Wlad can easily control frazier by using his 30+ pound weight advantage in tiring joe. 3) Wlad just knocked out Sam Peter with an uppercut (A guy that has a very good chin). Joe being 5'11 is going to be susceptible to this punch and Manny and Wlad will work on this. ***Above all is the fact that Wlad is a relatively very accurate puncher*** I believe Joe will try to get inside. but he is going to get hit with something whether it be an uppercut, left hook, or even a straight right while coming in. I think Joe is going to have to hit Wlad several times to worry him while I think Wlad can hit Joe once and Joe's whole night may be messed up.
bull**** total and utter bull**** wlad doesnt have the greatest jab in boxing history, thats so ludicrous! wlad has a VERY GOOD jab, due to his extreme height and reach advantages that he has over most people, which make his jab very effective....but his jab is by no means great he cannot be compared to the likes of larry holmes, whose jab was so versatile, that it was effective at long range, inside, and from odd angles. also, its interesting to note how the people with the great jabs, that i have seen, have always been able to get people out of there, with a 2 punch(+) combo, that has been set up by a destructive jab.... ie holmes, liston are two that come to mind.....even ali..... for starters wlad is unable to take anyone out with a combo, despite having such a great height and reach advantage over most, and supposedly the best jab ever to set it up..... the rematch against peter once more showcased how he takes totally overmatched individuals in an awful era, almost the entire course of the fight, using his height and reach to pepper them with long range jabs (which they are too morbidly slow to avoid)....before they collapse with EXHAUSTION (like peter did, it even took a semi push to send him down LMAO) how the hell can this be compared against the likes of Holmes, Liston, Ali???? atsch
wow. the question should be ''does wlad have any chance at all'' Wlad is a great of this era, but historically speaking there are a lot of ATG heavyweights who would outbox wlad. Frazier being one of them. Ali with his height speed and technical superiority could not hold of frazier. Now imagine what frazier would do to wlad when he gets on the inside. If WLad is not allowed to hold, like he did against peter, he will get ktfo by frazier. who had proven power. On the other hand george foreman had to knock down frazier how many times before he could get him out of there?!!? And wlad is no foreman! Frazier by KO between rounds 4-8
How have they gotten better exactly? Have you seen how fat and out of shape many heavyweights are these days? And these guys are top 10 then ranked heavyweights. When was the last time we saw a heavyweight that had good footwork and didn't plod his way around the ring.
are you having a laugh mate? seriously? Joe Frazier ....the same joe frazier that went 15rounds in the Fight of the Century, The Thriller in Manila....the same joe frazier that has only ever been stopped by perhaps the most murderous puncher of all time, George Foreman (despite being in one of the toughest era's of boxing around) u think wlad could ruin him with a single shot? when it takes him 10-12 rounds on average to get rid of the dire opposition of todays heavyweight division... give me a ****ing break atsch
Right! Frazier would come in with his one eye and blow fire from his mouth, burning Wald to the bone, killing him....
Wlad is too straight and rigid to be able to cope with Frazier's movement, meaning Frazier would certainly get on the inside. If he didnt stop Wlad with shots to the chin, I find it hard to imagine Wlad being effective after 8 rounds, given his stamina issues and Frazier's body punching. I've never seen an opponent go to Wlad's body anything like prime Frazier would. I'm a Klitschko fan but Frazier under 7.
When was Wlad's last case of a "stamina issue"? Years ago? Again don't compare the best of frazier to the worst of Wlad!
