The regionally ultra-popular and entertaining Kahn-Clary, based in Providence but currently spending a majority of his training hours with Freddie Roach on the opposite coast, is one fight removed from his second professional defeat (to Abdul Barry "Kid Galahad" Awad) on the Andrade vs. Kautondokwa undercard last October. Worcester native González is coming directly off his own first pro defeat, in May against Oklahoman southpaw Elijah Pierce (himself then coming in turn directly off his respective first L, courtesy of Giovanni Mioletti).

My dude Walter "2 Guns" Wright (from Season 2 of The Contender) is on the undercard, taking on unbeaten southpaw Uzbek prospect Khurshidbek Azambek Ugli Normatov...about whom I know absolutely nothing. His opposition through eight fights appears to have been so-so, but this'll be a step up (despite Wright being 38...he is still just a year removed from upsetting 21-0 local Boston-area hotshot Mark DeLuca).

 

Oh, and the actual co-main event is Alicia "The Empress' Napoleon Espinoza defending her WBA female super middleweight title for the second time, against unbeaten southpaw Schemelle Baldwin.

Kind of crazy...this is Napoleon's fifth contest scheduled at super middleweight (in just a dozen total bouts) and yet her career high weight is 158¼ ...never even above (or within a pound of) the middleweight limit...
