Me thinks that "Tokyo" Douglas of 1990 could handle himself and hold his ground on even terms with just about any former heavyweight champion in a time machine simply based on his epic showing against Mike Tyson in Japan. Of course even Tokyo Douglas would lose to several of the greats in that time machine, but I insist Douglas does better than Jimmy Young of 1976 would do in the same machine...

It would have been a close one,but my money would have been on Young. He would have been too hard for Buster to have tagged often, and cleanly enough.

Douglas is not overrated in the least. I haven't seen a more fluid heavyweight since.

I was never totally sold on Douglas since his ass was often lazy as all hell, but in Tokyo against Tyson he was a solid pro at 231 pounds and his act was well intact for the night.... Too bad he was too lazy to keep the eye of the tiger for Holy later in 1990 Vegas........

Ya know, after missing so much for the first few rds, Buster may try to just look for the KO punch, and he'd be waiting all night.

    Tommy and Joe,

I can accept those idea's and such, but my gut feeling is "Big Bus" takes Young if he were the same as 1990 Tokyo and Young was there for Ali of '76.....

Buster's jab, speed stamina, willpower, and act was grade-A for "One" night in Japan.....

Yea, Buster was THE **** that night, amazing, I could watch his fight with Tyson everyday. And I can see how people would think Bus could just overwelm Jimmy with that great jab, long reach, screaming right hand, but funny things happened to great fighters when they got in the ring with Young, they stopped looking so great. But hey! You know by now I'd never pick the other guy against Young by now.LOL
