Damn this a good question. But I have to favor Young here. This because of his ability to slip punches and counter and he would use his speed, reflexes and counter shots to off set Buster the whole night, like 10-5.

    Lets be real here...

Ali-Young was no robbery, Peak Jimmy lost a decision to a fat, shot Post-Manila Ali.

Peak Douglas is a much superior boxer & fighter to than Shot Ali.

    Yeah it was.
There's no doubt Young did more and made Ali look silly in comparison.
of course Douglas is better then that version of Ali, but that just means Young will be forced to fight and impose his style and slickness more.
I think it goes to a close decision with Young having the edge in the cards

As I've mentioned previously,as good as Douglas was on that night in Tokyo,he was a one trick pony who had the beating of a listless Mike Tyson. Jimmy Young would comfortably decision him.

    'One trick pony'?

    Lets compare their best wins:

    Douglas: Tyson, McCall, Berbick

    Young: Foreman, Lyle, Lyle

Exactly ! Look at the difference in quality. Those versions of Foreman and Lyle would beat the incarnarnations of Tyson,Mccall and Berbick you're quoting.

Young's record against Shavers is 0-1-1.

    He lost to Norton.

If you mention Marvin Stinston, Wendell Bailey & Garcia, then Douglas has Mike Williams, Cobb & Page.

Wrong. If you research about the second shavers fight he should have got the decision.

and it's clear to most people that he beat norton.

Garcia is certainly a good win. He was a decent puncher with skills

It was a listless Tyson who had ragged defense & threw few punches, but that also describes the version of Foreman that Young beat (not that '70s Foreman ever had good defense anyway).

At least Mike Tyson was the Undisputed, Undefeated (37-0), World Heavyweight Champion...Foreman was the ex-World Champ, who had retired for 2 years after being dethroned, went life-or-death with Ron Lyle, & let a Shot Zombie Frazier go 5 rounds, despite obliterating a much less shopworn version in less than half that time 4 years prior.

"Big Bus" Douglas did have a damn good KO over Mike Williams a.k.a. Union Cane in 1988 on the undercard of "Tyson-Spinks." Douglas thumped his ass hardcore...
