Douglas beats most lineal champs and Marcianos one of the worst ones H2H. 83 inch reach is very difficult to deal with.

Tysons power was much much more proven than Marcianos was and I find Tysons power to be a little overrated. Douglas got the job done there I see no reason he doesn't get it done here.

    6'3 230 pounds 83 inch reach vs 5'10 185 pounds 67 inch reach.

As I always say I wish people wouldn't keep pitting Marciano in mismatches with modern Heavyweights who dwarf him.

It doesn't matter if Marciano is greater historically he simply hasn't got the size or the style to deal with modern Heavyweights.

Marciano should be pitted against modern Cruiserweights instead.

Tokyo Douglas might beat any version of Marciano.

Marciano would have had absolute hell dealing with prime Buster's jab

Are you a MORON?...How old are you?..do you know ANYTHING about boxing history? Marciano was one of the all time great warriors in the history of boxing. Best conditioned fighter who ever lived...responsible for 13 permanent retirements...great power...chin...stamina...heart...never took a backward step! Threw close to 90 punches a round...hurt you no matter where he hit you...broke bones and blood vessels...almost killed Carmine Vingo...Vingo was partially paralyzed after their fight and he never fought again. In his title fight with Jersey Joe Walcott in September 1952...Marciano was knocked down in the first round for the first time in his career...was cut and blinded for 4 rounds...Joe Walcott beat the hell out of Rocky...he's way behind on all score cards...then in the 13th round..."BANG"...throws the best right hand ever and wins the title. Roland LaStarza in his 1953 title fight with Marciano...was KO'd for the first time in his career...and took such a beating that he ended up with bone damage and broken blood vessels in his arms. He had to have surgery to repair the damage. He smashed Rex Layne's teeth up into his gums...Layne had the teeth removed...Lee Savold's teeth were smashed into his gums...he had the teeth taken out...June 1954...in his first fight with former champ Ezzard Charles...they beat the living hell out of each other...non stop brawling...it's a blood bath...in their rematch 3 months later...Charles splits Marciano's nose in half in the 6th round...blood is pouring from his nose...the doctor and ref are worried about the cut...they might have to stop the fight. Marciano tells them that he's OK...they give him one more round...he storms out...hit's Charles with brutal punches...KO's him...and keeps the title. In his last fight in September 1955...the great Lt Heavyweight Champ Archie Moore...(and #1 contender)...have a classic slugfest at Yankee Stadium. Moore...who has the all KO record drops Rocky with a perfect counter right...he goes down. In the 6th...Marciano hit Moore with a clubbing overhand right and Moore goes down. What happens next has been called one of the greatest displays of Heavyweight slugging in history. Marciano pins Moore to the ropes and the 2 go at it...toe to toe...Marciano drops him again in the 6th...and finally stops him in the 9th. In April 1956...Marciano retires from the ring with a record of 49-0 with 43 KO's. He dies in the crash of a small plane near Newton Iowa on August 31, 1969...the day before his 46th birthday. I'm sure ...with the research you've done with your stupid ignorant comments...that Pulitzer Prize winning sports writer Red Smith said of Rocky Marciano..."He was the toughest...strongest...most completely dedicated fighter who ever wore gloves. Fear wasn't in his vocabulary...and pain had no meaning!" I'm sure you know...with all of your research...that Marciano had one of the all time great trainers in Charlie Goldman. Rocky being one of the great FIGHTERS of all time would be able to get past the jab of Buster Douglas. Douglas caught lightning in a bottle when he beat Tyson in 1990. Tyson had no heart...he quit when things got tough. No QUIT in Rocky!! Who puts this crap in your head?Sonny Liston QUIT sitting on his stool for a hell of a lot less!!!

Which bones of which fighters did Marciano break?
Lastarza was stopped on his feet,he was not ko'd.

Lastarza had surgery to remove bone chips from his elbows not as a result of his fights with Marciano.
Savold did not have his teeth smashed into his gums.

Light heavyweights. Bivol and Beterbiev both walk into the ring at over 190.

No point in that. Marciano already defeated the 2 greatest Light Heavyweights ever when both were still at good stages in their careers. One had just lost a SD to Harold Johnson that he should have won had it not been for an uncalled KD, and the other was arguably at the best run of his career. It's pointless to match him with inferior Light Heavies than the ones he beat.

The knockdown - or lack of it - didn't change the result of the fight. Charles won the 10th round on two out of three cards anyway, so a knockdown would have made no difference. The one judge who scored the 10th for Johnson had him winning the fight 7 rounds to 3, so again a knockdown wouldn't have been enough to turn it around.

Fair enough man. I had it closer than the judges when I scored it a while back, and thought Charles would have taken the nod had it been called. I do still think he was a quality fighter before Marciano broke him.
