Because Douglas was a flash in the pan who never again came close to this level of performance which indicates it has a lot more to do with Tyson than it does with Douglas.

Tokyo Douglas beating Tyson is more like Tokyo Tyson losing to Douglas.

He wasn't a flash in a pan he beat 4 fighters who held world titles Greg Page, Trevor Berbick, Oliver McCall, Mike Tyson, and was on a good run of form for atleast 3 years prior to the Tyson fight going 11-1 against notable Heavyweights.

I'd like to know how stylistically a crouching Marciano with a 67 inch reach is going to overcome a 16 inch reach disadvantage from a big modern talented Heavyweight who had a superb jab.

It's all good saying "I'm surprised Douglas is winning the poll" but there's no explanation how a Cruiserweight sized T-Rex arms Marciano is going to overcome a ridiculous disadvantage in all attributes like height, reach, size.

He was a flash in the pan, Page was a decent victory but Berbick and McCall need contextualising. Sure they look alright in terms of him having more than one name on his resume, but Buster was a 50-1 underdog for a reason.

Tyson's preparation for the fight is well documented.

As for Rocky, even that version of Tyson was able to drop Douglas for a count that a different referee could easily have waved off. I've no doubt Rocky would have got the job done.

Explain to me how Douglas of all people is able to keep Rocky away from him when he couldn't even keep Tokyo Tyson from dropping him for more than 10 seconds.

He beat 4 fighters who held world titles and was amongst the top 10 for a good 3 or 4 years with notable performances against notable Heavyweights hence he wasn't a flash in the pan.

"42-1 underdog" and pretty much any Heavyweight during that time would be a huge underdog as Tyson was seen as a unbeatable monster and the most intimidating Heavyweight of all time.

Tyson was 220 pounds not 185 pound Marciano and Douglas had his full faculties was totally coherent and wisely took the full count he would've got up sooner had the count been quicker.

Explain to me how Marciano is going to overcome a 16 inch reach disadvantage ? I really don't think you're taking into account how much of size difference there is between the two fighters.

If you had Marciano/Douglas standing side by side the size difference would look comical. Name me one Heavyweight in history that has overcome a 16 inch reach disadvantage, 5 inch height disadvantage, 50 pound weight disadvantage. And we're talking between two world class Heavyweights BTW well in this case it would be a Cruiserweight vs a big Heavyweight.

He was a flash in the pan. He was a 50-1 underdog and got absolutely bombed out in his next fight.

How did Holyfield who weighed 188 pounds vs Ricky Parkey manage to beat Douglas?

How did 5'10 Tokyo Tyson with a reach of 71 manage to drop Douglas for more than 10 seconds?

Douglas had a height/weight/reach advantage over Holyfield and it didn't make the slightest bit of difference. He got harpooned.

    42-1*

Beating 4 fighters who were champions and being a top 10 contender for 4 years is not a flash in the pan.

Give me an example between two world class Heavyweights where one fighter overcome a 16 inch reach disadvantage, 50 pound weight disadvantage, 5 inch height disadvantage.

Simple question if you can't think of any examples then that says it all.

Yes he was a 50-1 underdog and got bombed out in his next fight, he was a flash in the pan.

Firstly thats not a simple question, it requires one to have all of the relevant stats in an easy to query database. Secondly having no examples wouldn't say it all.

Holyfield overcame a deficit in reach, height and weight to smash Douglas to bits. Tokyo Tyson managed to drop him for more than 10 seconds.

Tell me how many former CW title holders Douglas beat. If you can't think of a single example that says it all.

No he was 42-1* and your definition of flash in the pan is not same as mine.

So you didn't answer the question as you can't think of any examples good to know.

So basically your theory is based off a feeling without any evidence of 16 inch disadvantage, 50 pound weight disadvantage, 5 inch reach disadvantage. Being overcome between two world class prime Heavyweights or in this case as i said Cruiserweight vs big Heavyweight.

Hence this is a waste of time going back and forth with a conversation that will go nowhere.

So you concede that not once did Douglas ever beat a single cruiserweight title holder, which you should already have known before I started this exchange of posts.

As well as that you now finally admit that Douglas was knocked out by Holyfield despite having an advantage in height, weight and reach, which again you must have known before this exchange began.

Please troll someone else, you've wasted enough of my time.

I've not conceded anything ? you failed to answer my question failing to give me an example of a fight between two Heavyweights where one fighter has overcome such disadvantages in attributes that i listed ?

You couldn't answer the question hence would it not be a big ask for Marciano to overcome such a disadvantage in attributes when you cannot think of single example of it happening throughout history ?

I've already gave my reasons why I think Douglas wins I don't see the crouching Marciano with his abnormally small reach for a Heavyweight. As a good style against a big talented Heavyweight with a 16 inch reach advantage who would keep Marciano at the end of his jab. I don't see Marciano overcoming such a disadvantage in regards to size, reach.

If you think that's trolling then you have a very weird definition of "trolling" I asked you to give me an example that's it.

The reason you're trolling is because you know full well every time Douglas has faced a former cruiser weight title holder he's been knocked out.

You know full well that despite Douglas having an advantage in height, reach and weight he was destroyed by Holyfield.

This is why you've been trolling and I've been daft enough to go along with it hoping you were actually looking to debate boxing honestly. But you weren't. You wanted to play a game of predetermined closed questioning knowing it would be completely fruitless.

Enjoy the rest of your day but please enjoy it trolling someone else.

I'm not trolling at all I think Douglas wins the fight that's it that's my opinion just like its your opinion that Marciano wins.

We can't prove eachother wrong as it's simply a mythical match up to discuss for fun.

I wasn't trying to be funny to you it's more like I'm trying to make you realize that overcoming such a disadvantage in height, reach, weight. Especially overcoming the reach which is a major factor 16 inches is not the norm that's why I asked you for an example to make you realize it's a big ask.

That's pretty much it I have no motives in regards to trolling you or trying to get under your skin I'm basically just trying to make you see where I'm coming from.

But as I said in the end its a waste of time because its a fantasy match up where no one will ever truly know the outcome so we can leave it at that.

    Enjoy your day also.
