Does Tyson get outboxed or is Douglas unable to deal with a motivated in form Tyson?

Given that Tokyo Tyson almost knocked Douglas out, I'm guessing that '88 Tyson would have finished the job.

My pick is Tyson by KO but seeing as some here feel Tokyo Douglas has been sprinkled with magic boxing dust I'm half expecting to be in the minority

Always puzzles me why people choose the Tyson who fought Spinks as the benchmark of his career. It was a quick blowout, he wasn't tested at all.

The way in which Douglas defeated Tyson makes me believe he would have beat him at any point in Tyson's career...

You would probably say that about Schmeling's KO over Louis too. He utterly dominated a less than his best Louis that night. Joe was overconfident and not as well prepared as he should have been. He fought too slowly and at the pace and distance Schmeling wanted.

Louis was focused and sharp in the rematch and did what he should have done the first time.

Tyson. He was brilliant in 1988. I couldn't stand him and wanted him beat, but he was exceptional for a short time.

If they fought ten times Douglas wins at least 9 of them. Tyson was tailor made for him. Short, stumpy, and easy to hit with that fast accurate jab.

Surely the fact that it was such a quick blowout against an unbeaten world champion makes it the benchmark of his career. He didn't look as convincing after he split from Rooney in his next fight against Bruno

Man there is some serious craziness going on here.
Prime Tyson DESTROYS Douglass. The head movement, some of the quickness, and certainly the motivation was gone by Tokyo.
I realize Tyson is a polarizing figure, but he as as great in his prime as almost anyone in histrory. The 'big guys who gave him trouble" didnt really, they just fought to survive.

    are you smoking crack.

so a tyson that got dropped in sparring a tyson that had amateur night corner dropped douglas and almost koed him.

So a tyson with the orginal team d amato a tyson who came in behind a jab moved his head bobbed and weaved through combations attacked the body would destroy Douglas.

Matter of fact any tyson 86-88 would Ko douglas.

Douglas won a miracle dream fight once in a lifetime stars aligned divine intervention against a tyson that was headed down hill like a speeding train and still was almost koed.

Douglas did fight great that night the best he ever fought in his life but tyson at his best would be to much for him he was just the overall better fighter.

I do think tokyo Douglas would put up a great fight but tysonsd body work would break him down and ko him 5-7

Tyson catches and keeps him down this time.
