I’ve called in sick to work & Ive got my popcorn at the ready! Don’t let me down, guys.

12 & 15 rounds in a scenario for both distances. Touch gloves!

I think that Tokyo Douglas would have been too much for Marciano.
No disrespect to the Rock,as Tokyo Douglas would have been a problem
for practically every heavyweight in history.
I hope the popcorn aids your recovery !

One of the worst fights possible for Marciano.

Oliver McCall said on his day Douglas would be competitive with anyone.
I agree with that and think Douglas would win this.

It’s be too much, Marciano would be fighting at light heavyweight in that era, he’d be cutting water weight to make 175lbs.

Douglas absolutely schools him. Rocky's face is a crimson mask afterwards.

    6'3, 231 pounds, 83 inch reach, vs 5'10, 185 pounds, 67 inch reach.

A complete mismatch Douglas jabs his head off and stops him in 8 rounds.

I’ll go with the majority here and say Douglas gets a stoppage. On behalf of Marciano however, I think he fights valiantly and goes out on his shield.

    Marciano by stoppage.

Douglas put on an amazing performance against Tyson that night, but it isn't enough to convince me that he'd beat Marciano. Marciano was actually very good at adapting mid-fight. Buster would've definitely got knocked out if he lost focus against Marciano like he did against Tyson in the 8th round, since Marciano was always in top shape come fight time.

Tyson as talented as he was was a one-dimensional fighter. If you took away his range Mike became beatable. When Douglas took away Tyson's preferred range Tyson didn't adapt the whole fight and let Douglas bully him around the ring. Not to mention Tyson didn't show up in top shape and ran out of gas in the later rounds. Even when Tyson dropped Douglas he had no energy to follow it up in the next round.

Here is a Tyson interview a month after he lost to Douglas. Tyson admits his sloppy habits eventually caught up to him.

Tyson Vows to be Prepared next time

"I never took the fight seriously."

That was Mike Tyson's comment recently on his loss to James "Buster Douglas last month in Tokyo. The remark came in his first extended interview since the fight, generally considered to be the greatest upset in the history of boxing.

Interviewed at the home of a friend, Rory Holloway, Tyson also said the Feb. 10 debacle forced him to scarp, at least for the time being his plan to retire from boxing later this year.

    Tyson also said:

He is still embarrassed by his only defeat as a professional.

He has no intention of firing his two much-criticized trainers.

He still believes he is the best heavyweight in the world.

He had fallen into "sloppy habits" in training because of a series of easy victories as the world heavyweight champion.

The former champion, who was relaxed, animated and in good humor during the 90-minute interview, said he plans to fight again in June or July.

Tyson, at one Las Vegas casino was a 42-1 favorite over Douglas. He had a 37-0 record and as anticipating a $22 million to $25 million June 18 payday against Evander Holyfied at Atlantic City, N.J., in a showdown of the heavyweight division's two unbeaten stars.

But all that was knocked off the Boardwalk before 30,000 at the Tokyo Dome. Douglas finished Tyson off with four hard punches to the head in the 10 round.

In the interview, Tyson, who weighed 220 1/2 pounds - his normal fighting weight - for the Douglas bout blamed the defeat on his weight-loss of 25 pounds during the five weeks he was in Japan.

"I was out of shape, more or less," Tyson said. "I let myself get too heavy before the fight. I lost 25 pounds in Japan in the last month before the fight. It was too much. I was training hard and just not eating. But really, I wasn't worried going into the fight because I'd done it before and still won."

"When I beat (Jose) Ribalta, (Tony) Tucker and (Tony) Tubbs, I wasn't in great shape, either, But I still beat those guys. I guess I figured it would work every time. So I fell onto sloppy habits."

"This time, though, I picked the wrong opponent to do that with. I don't mean to tear down Buster Douglas because he was really prepared to fight me and did a good job, but he didn't beat Mike Tyson. He beat an out-of-shape guy who didn't prepare properly."

"That won't happen again. I'm still convinced that when I'm right, I'm the best fighter in the world, that no one can beat me."

no sentiments, this Douglas beats any Marciano. The better Rock is, the longer he gets beaten, but I don't think he will ever last the entire distance...
