Who wins this battle of two fighters with the ultimate inspiration and determination?
The title is vacant, Tyson is fighting for his late great mentor Cus D'Amato to become the youngest heavyweight champion in history, or James Douglas, inspired by the death of his mother, and his last shot at a title?

Same result. Style, desire and of course the intangibles that go along with the passing of his mother stack the deck in Douglas favor.

Tyson within 6, Tyson was missing a step in Tokyo but still a great win for Douglas

He was a bit green, but he was determined as hell and was punching very hard. He later admitted he was hindered by gonnereah for that fight. :blood

Plodding forward winging hooks just like he tried against Buster.

This version of Tyson would be much sharper and much more focused. Also, he would be better equipped to capitalize on footwork/technical errors with Rooney in the corner. Tyson TKO6

He hardly looked like **** in this fight. He was coming forward with a lot of aggression and the one big difference was he was throwing combinations, and he wasnt waiting. In the Douglas fight he was waiting on Douglas too much, which allowed Douglas to operate the way he did. Berbick was just as bold as any fighter that faced Tyson.

I don't get how Tyson didn't look impressive. He was facing a super durable legitimate WBC champion and blew him out in 2 rounds with a tremendous short left hook (which so many people refuse to admit Tyson had)

He was definitely more agressive and winged some shots but that had to do with Berbick not having the power to bother him as well as the fact that Berbick was engaging him.

  12. Tokyo Douglas back story makes it difficult placing him next t oanyone. Classic fight.

    It's all relative.

Put it this way: The Tyson that fought Berbick was no better than the Tyson that fought Douglas. Both were pretty hittable and basically just looked to wade in and start slugging.

Was Tyson waiting on Douglas? Or was he just struggling getting into punching range against somebody with top-level footwork and punching ability?

Douglas footwork was no more top level than Tucker or Tubbs. He was clearly waiting. Watch and you tell me.

Is this what you call "waiting"?
