good point. They are both good fighters and for anyone to call JT a fraud is just trying to look like a genius on here by saying, 'I told ya so'. bunch of haters. JT will be back and I got his back win or lose.
Some of the members on this site calling a world champion who was undefeated and had beaten many great fighters, a *fraud*, merely cause he was finally beaten just goes to show how many 12 year olds there are on this site. This site is more like a grade school playground, at times. Rediculous. This kind of bull**** ruins the overall legitimacy of this board and makes one want to find somewhere else to discuss meaningful boxing topics, as there seem to be too many childish kids on this site.
I would agree with that. I never called Taylor a fraud. I did say he was a bit exposed last night in that his chin did not hold up and his defense, which was decent for 6 rounds, did finally bite him in the ass. He impressed me though for the first 6 and it was as good as I had seen him. Kelly Pavlik is just a monster though and I don't see a guy at 160 beating him.
Taylor is a Good Fighter but he is not a GREAT Fighter. Great Fighter wins Great Fight convincingly. Just like MAB against Hamed, Pac-MAB, EM-PAC, DLH-Chavez, Taylor doesn't have one of those.
Up until last night, Taylor beat great fighters consistently. Though, I do agree with you in that Taylor has not done enough to be considered great himself.
This will likely be my last post for quite some time. I am sick and ****ing TIRED of hysterical assholes like El Rey, Zakman, et al acting like ******ed six year olds whenever a fighter they dislike happens to lose a fight. Rather than give pi]any[/i] amount of credit to Pavlik for overcoming adversity and spirited performance from an establsihed champion, they simply choose to label the loser a "fraud". Well then...what does that make Pavlik? A semi-fraud!? I shouldn't be surprised...because this type of behavior happens after every major fight. But, it is really starting to aggravate me, and I'm no longer willing to let this **** stress me out. I'm taking some time off of ESB, until such time as I'm ready to deal with this **** once again. If any members of the Classic section happen to read this post, then know that the 140lb tourney that I was going to run is being put on hold until I come back. Oh, and congratulations to Pavlik, for producing a career-defining win in exciting fashion against a very good fighter. He's very exciting, and, if he follows Taylor's lead in taking on credible opposition, then we could be in for a hell of a ride. I'm looking forward to it.
