Only thing Chavez has is a heart, a chin, and will. He never showed signs of giving up. I didn't think Martinez could win a decision. my faith in the sport has been restored.
Yep, sounds like it was a good night for the sport all around, with no controversy and some exciting fights. Great news.
Well you were right man, Chavez was more limited than I realized. I thought he had enough to beat the overrated Sergio Martinez though. I won't have to wait long there, however, as either Golovkin or Alvarez will destroy him. Dude's mandible isn't exactly the most impenetrable, if ya know what I mean.....
you and most people The guy stepped up in class several levels, yet still can't get credit. People on ESB want fighters to fight the best even when they are not ready for it, and when they do they get hated on for losing.
I only logged in to see what embarrassing crap the JCC Fanboys were posting so it is a pleasure to see an excellent thread like this, acting like an island of sanity in a rolling sea of stupidity :deal .
yeah its sad when the "champion" steps up several levels to fight a 37 year old challenger, gets his ass kicked for 11 of 12 rounds, makes triple the money and somehow we are supposed to give him credit for what again?
Troy Ross was robbed (if you didn't see it, you should, great slugfest) , even so the cards getting the most attention went without problems. Chavez JR did get credit for stepping up, however he was hated before for his fake champion status and that hate will slowly disappear as time goes on unless he is gifted another title.
I think he means that he should get credit for fighting at middleweight when he is actually a lightheavy or cruiser and using illegal drugs to cut weight.
