Both judges that gave the fight to Cloud should be in jail. But, of course, absolutely nothing will come of this, as usual.
Excuse me dickhead, you just said Cloud had no business losing to Campillo. But the fact is he did lose, and he was dominated in stretches. Your point makes it sound like Campillo's win was a fluke. What could you blame Clouds loss on, sickness, hand injuy or some other shite? It clearly ****ing wasnt a fluke, cloud and Campillo could fight 10 times and campillo would win each time you dumb ****.
Just because Cloud lost a fight dosnt make him over-rated. He won the title fair and square and in his previous fights , he looked good. I never heard any over-rated statements on his talents. Now having said that I will also reinterate that he did get his ass schooled last night and clearly didnt deserve the win.
I could see the fight a draw at best in favor of Cloud, that being said, Campillo would have won if the didn't quit fighting the last two rounds. I still don't see how Cloud was overrated, no one wanted to fight him before and he literally was locked out the division.
Campillo is a legit top level fighter. Calling him a C+ fighter shows a lack of general boxing knowledge. He has great footwork, and movement, but punches enough, and punches sharp enough to not be called a runner. He has some slickness, and for his low KO percentage, he definitely has some pop. Cloud's face wasn't getting shredded because Campillo was feather fisted. Cloud's head wasn't snapping back, because Campillo was feather fisted. Campillo wasn't backing Cloud up because he was feather fisted. etc. etc. Campillo is damn good. I would favor him, or have him even money with just about any 175 pounder out there right now. I agree. Yusef Mack would have beaten Cloud had he had stamina. Glad I wasn't the only one to notice, that while he was fresh, Cloud couldn't really lay a hand on him due to Mack's slickness.
Anybody calling Cloud over rated, probably put too much faith in him themselves. Most people with a keen boxing eye, noticed that Cloud is a somewhat limited face first brawler. He doesn't have head movement, he usually plods forward. He negates his power by usually landing his punches with the inside of his gloves a la Jeff Lacy, Paul Williams, etc. When Cloud does punch with the knuckles he gets results, but he doesn't do it enough. I noticed in the Mack fight, that he really couldn't lay a hand on Mack while Mack was fresh. So I knew, slickness, movers, technical boxers, or any combination of the three would trouble him. Cloud got Christmas early, I didn't think it was even close. Campillo's punches were audible. He seems to be a fairly sharp puncher for having such a low KO percentage.
Come on now Bama, You normally a pretty level headed poster but you lost me with that statement. I have watched this fight three times and I didnt see draw nowhere in the mix.:smoke
Boxing officials are totally garbage in the states, they are literally ruining the careers of other fighters, yeah you like your home guys but its just getting ridiculous
I have my card from the fight on the RBR thread. I honestly scored the fight as I saw it. I understand some rounds could go the other way though, so like I said, at the best for Cloud is "my card" which is a draw.
Sillakh would ko Cloud and I like Cloud. Last night, he showed no power, though and I don't know if the fact he was facing a southpaw made a difference. I talked to Sillakh's trainer (Shadeed Suluki), a long-time friend and he was telling me how frustrating it's becoming. Seems nobody wants to fk with his boy. I felt like I was watching Joe C. beating up on Lacey, all over again.
Campillo is not a c level fighter and Cloud certainly did have every business losing to him. I remember him getting picked off by the rather limited Clinton Woods's jab and thought 'He's great fun but the first top level boxer he faces will beat him.' Campillo has got to be the most unfortunate boxer around. He's a fine fighter when he gets those combinations flowing and deserves better than this.
I'm a Cloud fan, and my vwallet is a little fatter thanks to those two blind judges, but after he failed to put away Campillo in the 1st, then didn't throw a hard punch in the 2nd, I felt like this guy is prime for Bute to murder upon his moving up. Nothing against Campillo, he did what he shoulda done, and shoulda got the W, but he's not a puncher like Bute. Nor is he as slick. His punch resistance did seem somewhat suspect as well. BUTE would KO Cloud inside 5. EARLY!:deal
