Dallas looked terrible. He would be schooled by Chisora, Fury, Rogan, Sexton, McDermott & Price. Southern Area at best for him. Looks like a fight with Larry is the only option as Page beat him and he will know that.
Horrible decision, Dalls was well beaten, getting really pissed off with the hometown decisions we are getting these days. The BBBofC need to start taking action
The post fight interviews his words were a lot more bullish than his actions. I had page by 2....but then I am a sucker for what the commentators say but even they were in complete agreement. Another poor decision from IJL.
The bit about this decision that has annoyed me, is that Ian Jon Lewis should not have been reffing and scoring this fight. He is good friends with Andy Kidd , they both boxed at St Marys for years. Kidd was a trainer there. Then Dallas fights out of there. Its an instant conflict of interest, and should not be allowed by the board.
Dallas looked poor but I thought Page might cause an upset so it didnt come as a suprise that he struggled. Dallas is far to stiff and predictable and somewhat easy to hit aswell, I think even Big Larry would be in with a very good chance against Dallas
Its hilarious to me how low Olubamiwos stock has fallen. I remember arguing with mugs over on boxrec who were saying he could beat Fury and Chisora. atsch
You have to feel bad for Page. A bloke for whom little ever goes right, and for once he does everything he's supposed to...only to have laid bare the ugly truth of boxing on the road (and especially under the archaic and ridiculous UK rules of the single referee scoring the bout atsch)
Would it really make any difference who does the scoring when you have such blatant home town decisions?
I don't know. One would hope that there was less chance of three people being corrupt or incompetent than just one. Law of averages and all. :conf
Nope they're all bent. Even if they put one decent judge on they'll balance it out with Parris and O'Connor.
The only bit of good to come out of it was that Maloney was honest about it, I expected him to come out with the usual line about his fighter having done enough to nick it, but at least he was honest and said that Dallas was lucky to get the win. I with the BBBoC would overturn the decision or something, it is embarrassing for British fight fans - how can we complain about places like Germany, Italy, Las Vegas, often giving home town decisions when that one was as bad as most I have seen. Terrible, felt very sorry for Page, he got robbed. And it does Dallas no favours - maybe a defeat would wake him up and have him try something else. As it is he will look at his record and in a few weeks' time might believe that he is half decent.
