I'd stil favour AJ in potential rematch as stylistically I just think hes the worst opponent for Whyte. I think this fight only happens next year if AJ loses to Ruiz. If AJ wins Matchroom will look to make the unification fight ( i think Fury & Wilder will continue to turn down offer to fight AJ) and if not AJ will have to have the Pulev mandatory and maybe even Usyk after if he doesnt have relinquish the WBO belt. Wilder has no interest in fighting Whyte as he can punch so I would like to see Whyte fight the winner of Hunter vs Povetkin.
It's clear that Whyte has improved more overall than AJ has since their first fight, but he was always bound to as he had more things he needed to improve on - AJ was clearly levels above at the time they fought.. With that being said - Has he improved enough to be on par with, or better than AJ? I don't think so personally. Don't forget, AJ has made improvements too! I'd favour AJ to beat Whyte again - Both can be hurt, both can do the hurting.. but I just think AJ is better overall. It's easy to judge AJ off his last fight, and I don't blame people for doing so - but he's much better than he was against Ruiz, and I back him to get those belts back!
Both Whyte and Joshua are a bit chinny. The bodybuilder 's punch resistance has took quite a beating from that ferocious blob. Their ripe fight the taking.
But here we have Tom who is a pro boxer and he has shared the ring with both guys.. and they don’t show up to tickle each other and he says whyte is stronger overall.. more strings to his bow
I take his comments with a pinch of salt, a couple of things to note; - We don't know the intensity of each sparring session. - He's sat there right next to baby ting... I'm a fan of both, ftr!
Ruiz got beaten by Parker. Whyte would jab his head off and beat him on points. Not sure if he beats Joshua. Depends on how Joshua took the Ruiz loss and how well he can bounce back. A healthy, focused Joshua beats the breaks off him again.
Funny how the other narrative is... AJ and Co fighting in Saudi so they can juice up... and you are saying they only juice in the homeland.. UK?? So which is it you Conspiracy nut.
Whyte was lucky to get a W over Parker or Chisora, or have you forgotten that? Hell, if Rivas was a little more aggressive, he'd have probably been KO'd there. Ruiz walks right through Whyte, especially a clean one.
Rivas put everything in that ring, he gave it 100 per cent, more than he did against Jennings. He left every ounce of his soul, body, sweat, blood and tears. Everyone has a plan till you get punched in the face... he got hit hard, went hesistant for a few rounds, then said **** it... ill go down on my shield if needs be... but he just got outworked at the end of the night. And Rivas is a solid opponent. He came in shape, game strong... has pedigree.. KO power... experience everything And the limited... less experienced Whyte... took him to school. Contrary to popular belief... a boxer doesnt have to look uber fancy and sophistaced to be skilled... he just needs to do the basics right... the subtle timings.. and positionings... and Rivas did all of that excellently in avoiding many of Whytes power shots... but he just got beat fair and square. Rivas could not have done anything differently... he had plenty of chances. And If I am the only one in the world who believes Whyte tripped himself up (not knocked down) so be it... thats the truth in my eyes.
AJ totally outclassed him the first time around, since then AJ has had some very good wins/performances outside of the loss to Ruiz. Whyte has had some good wins but also wars, knockdowns, debatable decision with Chisora. I’d still take AJ but would be rooting for Whyte.
