Ok, it's Lemieux.

GGG will KO Lemieux, but it'll be exciting to see how GGG fares against a fellow puncher.

 

I don't hate Cotto but I have definitely lost some respect for him of late. Back in his days at 140 and 147 I was quite a fan.

He doesn't take on everyone like he used to, he is effectively holding the MW title hostage and makes people fight him for it a t a catch weight.

I don't want to see him brutally KO'd but I do want to see him face his deserving challnegers at 160 weight limit.

On topic if its Lemieux I am fairly happy with that, I think "pleasantly surprised" is the right way to describe it, better than some of his last fights and should be an entertaining one at least.

To me a Ward or Froch (if he weren't retired) fights would at 168 would have been way more than "pleasantly surprised" that would have been "f*cking ecstatic".

 

He's a Cotto apologist, saying he earned the right for fights he wants b/c he's fought all the best.

@andyw.....i dont mind him holding the mw title till the canelo fight...anything after that without facing ggg...id say fight him or drop it....but im totally fine with him holding it for that fight....and i dont think anyone else should blame him for it......that title has little to do with how we view ggg....ggg doesnt need that belt for anything....he just wants the cotto name to use .....if ggg beats heiland for the belt does it change anything on how we view ggg? it doesnt

 

if cotto fought ggg and lost...the same losers who make fun of cotto and say hes a pansy and he "got smoked by everyone" would be using cottos name in defense of ggg when people say he still hasnt beat anyone impressive

i dont think its a **** fight....im just not that interested....i dont think its a very good fight....its a good fight....but he can do better.....he just doesnt want to....which is why i say "hes just like everyone else"

 

You'd not be interested in any fight at 160 anyway, Golovkin is just too good there for you.

Trout and Concreto as well.

His biggest fights, he lost.

His best win is over a 37 y/o Mosely, and many ppl thought he lost that fight.

Now, when he beat Mosely, and I had him winning narrowly, I was his biggest fan.

I knew Concreto cheated him when Mosely busted him for trying to cheat him.

And when Cotto got his revenge over Concreto, I was thrilled. Was still a huge Cotto fan.

When Cotto beat Foreman, I was thrilled he had moved up and stopped draining himself.
When he took the fight with Mayweather, I honestly thought he'd win, and I was pulling for him to win it in the worst way.

When Trout disassembled him, I thought he was shot.

When he came back with Roach, you could see he was clearly bigger than he'd been in the past. ROIDS???? IDK, but he was 166lbs vs DROD and he was throwing that L hook aggressively again, just as he'd done vs Pacqioua.

I was thrilled he looked like a reborn fighter.

When Sergio signed to fight him, I was a bit aggravated. Because Sergio had been ducking GGG for almost 2 yrs. Fighting the likes of Macklin, Murray, Dzrunik etc.
Chavez Jr.....you know.....that was a huge money fight. And Chavez Jr looked like a good fight to build his legacy on so I was OK with the GGG duck for that one.
I also gave Sergio a pass for Murray since Murray was in most fans and experts opinions, the WBA SuperChamp. So, cool.

Then Sergio lost to Murray. But he got the gift of a lifetime, and for that I was bummed, even though I really hate Murray.

Now, back to Cotto. He comes in, gets Martinez 1.5 mil, something which HBO would have easily guaranteed for a unification fight with GGG, maybe doubled it, and gets taken out in a rd.

So......

Here's Cotto, winning a title that rightfully belonged to Martin Murray, shoulda been won by GGG before Jr got his crack, and on and on and on.

So what's Miquels next play......not line up a solid fight like Quillin, Geale, Heiland, Canelo, GGG, Monroe, Martinez rematch, whatever, no, he SITS for a YEAR on Murray/GGGs title then drags Geale down to a corpse and smashed him.

So, the 166lb Cotto, 3 inches shorter than Geale, 15lbs lighter than Geale, blows him away after draining him to a corpse.

And while I have NO PROBLEM with Cotto fighting Canelo at 155-160, Im thoroughly aggravated that Cotto looks so good lately, that he refuses to even consider fighting the #1 MW in the world.

Ive never seen a case where the #2 fighter in the division, so thoroughly is ducking the #1 in the division in which he's fighting.

That said......props to #s 3-10 for actually having the huevos to step in with GGG. :good

 

Why dont we let K2 and Roc work on that fight.

If Ward stays at SMW, which he's already said he was, let him fight the winner of Abraham vs Zurdo.

Let him take another legacy fight with BHOP at 170.

Let him finally put an end to the Lucian Bute saga at 170.

There are plenty of fights for Ward at 168-172 that he can make bank and rebuild his brand. Maybe even get himself back into the p4p rankings vs the likes of Zurdo and BHop.

If he does that over the next 18 months, and GGG gets any combination of BHOP, Lemiuex, Lee/Saunders, Jacobs, Eubank Jr, Quillin, Lara, Cotto/Canelo, then the talks of Ward vs GGG at 168, 50/50, no rehydration clause(testing a non-negotiable from what Im told), and both Ward and GGG make career paydays on HBO PPV.

It will be the May/Pac of the higher weight classes. Easily doing a million buys. Both guys walk away with 7 figures.

Winner becomes the best 160-168 fighter of this generation.

#3-10 have no choice but to step in the ring with ggg....they make no real money and have no real name

ggg/ward makes sense for both guys....ggg just doesnt want his myth busted...his momentum thwarted

guy is 33 with 33 fights and 0 hall of famers or p4p fighers(that even crack the top 50) on his resume.....he needs ward, cotto or floyd....not just for money....but for credibility
