Just caught up with the boxing in Liverool because I couldn't watch it live. Tom Stalker. After giving it large at the press conference and ridiculing Dodd's boxing skills throughout the build up, he somehow managed to get completely outboxed by Masher. I gave Stalker the first round and then one of the last rounds, can't remember which exactly. Then to top it off he acts like he was hard done by the judges at the end of the fight. Questions have to be asked too of Danny Vaughn in the corner. I didn't hear him really ramming down Stalker the fact that he was miles down on the cards. He never properly read the riot act to him. There was zero urgency in the corner. Embarrassing all round. He couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding.
Heard him say he doesn't need boxing and has an eye on a different career, after that performance I say time to move on.
Seems like he thinks hes to good for boxing. Pure arrogance. Oh well, with what hes achieved he will soon be forgotten !
In fairness to Vaughan I heard him telling him often he needed to do more as he was behind and later on that he needed a knockout to win. Nearly every instruction Stalker got he just ignored.
he's totally useless and comes across as a bit of an idiot. whats his new career? going back to stealing cars? dodd seems a decent enough guy who really puts the work in so quite pleased for him.
He's a rubbish fighter, he's a arrogant little rat and has a face you could punch all day. I bet his mother doesn't even like him.
Stalker is done, please retire. Never really adapted to the pro game, got stopped by Catterall. Had his trilogy with Evans & beaten comfortably by Dodd. You achieved great things in the Ams but time to hang them up. Last night was poor, although fair play to Dodd.
the first fight i saw of his was dan carr before that i heard good things then after seeing that carr fight i thought his a knockout waiting to happen and am sure he choose catterall thinking it was an easy fight then goes life and death with evans who is a good fighter but thats it
I’m made up for him. He seems a good lad and totally dedicated. He’s quite accurate with them shots too. Stalker seemed a lot more humble on his Twitter. Fair play to him. With respect it’s just not really worked out for him but credit to him for giving it a go.
