Tomasz Adamek is moving up to heavyweight division !

i dont no much about adamek,, what kind of fighter is he?

 

youtube doesn't hurt... one of my fav fighters. i'd love to see him fighting hopkins but looks like he'll fight cunn first.

 

saw mr adamek on you tube,, he can certainly bang abit!

 

of course he's not ducking cunningham. let's not forget adamaek sat him on his backside 3x in a close competitive fight.

the main problem is whether American TV are willing to pay Adamek and Cunningham what they are worth. in other words Adamek's ppl are trying to attract HBO or Showtime.

Adamek ducks no one. He fought Bell, he fought Cunningham. He fought Briggs twice and he fought Dawson. After winning his titles, he made dangerous first defenses v Ulrich and Jon Banks. Adamek is one of boxing's true warriors but he's having problems with the business side of boxing: he's one of the most exicitng at any weight, he performs at a high level, and yet his fights are being turned down by premium channels - how depressing.

if he moves up to heavyweight and fights someone like Haye or Eddie Chambers - 2 top 10 heavies that are did/would make exceptional cruiserweights - those fights are even tougher than Cunningham!

 

certainly, a lot of give and take when he fights. very exciting fighter and his 2 fights with briggs, and his fight with cunningham, are classics.

 

i'd like to see that but i get the impression that if it's taking forever to make adamek-cunningham 2, then adamek-flores would be an even harder sell. especially given that flores seems to have turned down the fight in the past AND turn down an IBF eliminator. i'd love to see tomasz v different styles, partiuclarly the tricky one that flores brings.

a fight with golota would be interesting. i'd certainly watch it but i'd rather watch him defend his 200 title. if he can smash up a golota, then a fight with chambers - who would have made a great cruiser - and haye - too big for cruiser/too small for heavy - then i suppose this is as good as any cruiser fight. i suppose.

as a huge adamek fan i'd like him to stay at cruiser for another year, set back cunningham and smash up a decent voluntary (like godfrey), then move up. if the Klits leave boxing, heavyweight could be a small man's division: Haye, Chambers, Povetkin, Boytsov, Odlanier Solis - and Adamek could compete with these guys, IMO.

 

Yes he is ducking him, first he wouldnt grant an immediate rematch and wasted two fights on ****ing nobodies. Then when Cunningham finally worked his way back to being his mandatory again, he decides to jump to HW.

If that aint ducking I don't know what is. Those two fighting is the only fight worth watching in the CW division and Adamek is running from it to fight Andrew Golata?

 

This is the first time in about 5 years that I've heard Odlanier Solis described as a "small man."

1 u have to be coming from a win to get an ibf title shot

2 cunninghum was ordered to fight birathwiaihte Before the Banks fight(btw he was there at Prudential telling how hes preparing to his bout)

so, now is the first possible time to make the rematch happen, if adamek wont make it happen , u'll be free to call it ducking but not yet man

 

There is no immediate rematch with the IBF. If you lose a close title fight, you don't get an immediate rematch. You have to fight an eliminator. This is why until now no one could consider making the fight. Steve had to fight the elim vs Braithwaite which he won.

Jon Banks isn't a nobody. he's a big punching Kronk fighter with decent skills. he's a big cruiserweight and apparently held a power advantage over Adamek. it was a dangerous fight, especially for a 1st defense at a weight 25 pounds above where he won his last world title.

Bobby Gunn is a clubfighter, but Adamek's promoters tried to make a fight with decent Matt Godfrey, which got turned down by Showtime; and a fight with former light heavy champ Glen Johnson, which got turned down by HBO.

If Adamek wants to be a heavyweight, let's say he gets a fight with Eddie Chambers. That's just as hard, even harder, as fighting Cunningham. Adamek is at a stage in his career where he wants to make better money - and why the hell shouldn't he, with his crowd pleasing style?

hopefully the money will be there for a Cunningham rematch.

 

i see him as a skilled smaller man ala povetkin, chambers, etc

maybe i should amend to small, light hitting, and very overweight?

 

?! has he been having weight problems? adamek has always struck me as being in shape all year long.
