Estrada can make it a competitive fight IF he shows up in top shape, Adamek don't have to worry about Estrada's power though, a decision or TKO for Adamek. If Jason get's KO'ed by Adamek it will be a good win, but not a statement to worry the upper echelon of the division...

Thank you. Reading through this thread, I thought I was the only one who considered this kind of a wank fight... And I like Estrada, but........ really Tomasz? Are you that scared of Cunningham?

how is adamek scared of cunningham? he's already beaten him, and TV won't buy a rematch. you can't go ahead without the TV money and this time even Versus - who showed their fight last year - won't buy it.

on this matter, there doesn't seem to be any TV thus far for adamek-estrada. so how, pray tell, are they going to get a major name??

adamek fights 3-4 times a year, so he doesn't have to fight top fighters every fight. all other elite fighters fight once, twice a year. so it's ok to moan if you don't like their foe. but with adamek it is different because he is active... estrada will be only his 2nd heavyweight bout, and brings different problems than golota, whose bulk adamek had to get used to. this time, it will be an opponent hard to hit cleanly, with an accurate (if weak) punch, who troubled povetkin.

the REAL tough fights will come when adamek is rewarded with a world title eliminator, and then hopefully the world title fight itself, vs david haye. now, david haye is a far more rewarding fight than cunningham, more money, a heavyweight title...we all understand this, right?

look at holyfield. after cruiser, he had 2 easy fights at heavyweight, then a rock hard elimTYPE of fight, vs dokes, a couple more no-names, and then the title shot.

The guy he beat a year ago? That's beside the point; he clearly enjoyed fighting as a heavyweight and wants to continue.

Oh? So there's no unfinished business there at cruiserweight or anything?

The man can do what he wants. I'd love to see a rematch, but it's clear he wants to campaign as a heavyweight, at least for the moment.

Funny how when he has a tough fight he switches weights; I mean first after Dawson then he sure looks like he is running away from a meaningful Cunningham rematch... And I like Adamek.

Are you serious and still going on about this?

I don't get what is so difficult to understand that there is no money in a Cunningham - Adamek fight... none of the networks were interested. It has nothing to do with Adamek being afraid, he has already more then proven himself of not being scarred of anybody.

Don King himself (Cunninghams promoter) even said that the only people who come to watch Cunningham fight are his relatives and best friends. There is no money in CW, and this is these guys jobs. They fight for a living, not for free.

In no way, shape or form could Adameks move up to cruiserweight have to do with him having problems cutting down to 175. And moving up to heavyweight? Clearly he is scared of Cunningham, nothing to do with making **** money at cw and no tv station wanting to pick up the rematch.

    Great observation, sir.

    define meaningful

meaningful for a few message board posters: cunningham rematch!

however, adamek has already been in the high risk, low reward fights. briggs 1. briggs 2. cunningham. he got respect but not great riches, not great recognition.

don't you think david haye - a better cruiser champ than cunningham and a heavyweight belt holder who can sell 800,000 PPVs in the UK - is more "meaningful"?

adamek is working toward a shot at haye, it would seem. if he gets there, he gets a big payday. if he wins, he's a 3-weight world champ...

    is that "meaningful enough"?

Is he fighting David Haye? No, he's fighting Jason "Who?" Estrada.

Can you honestly say there isn't unfinished business with Cunningham? I mean he only won by virtue of a couple knockdowns. Minus those he loses handily.

Are some people still crying over Adamek not giving Steve a sympathy rematch?

They tried(team Adamek) but no one wanted to pick it up.All Steve's fault for having next to no value in the Boxing World.

What has Steve done to garner more attention for himself as a product other than wait around for Adamek to HELP him along with his career?

Good opponent for Adamek's 2nd HW fight.Still a scary thought him being a HW but he was always too ballzy for his own good.

So it looks like he's staying at Heavyweight then?

This isn't a bad fight. For all his faults, Estrada isn't a bad fighter and I think this level of fighter is probably right for Tomasz to ease himself into the division. The Golota "fight" was more of an exhibition than a real test. If he beats Estrada in style then he can step up the competition again.
