..there are talks that after this fight Kevin Johnson might be on the horizon.... TA:" Hes a solid fighter. He fought guys like Tarver and Arreola, who I beat. This kind of opponent I need for my comeback. I had a long break, and I can't wait to get in the ring again. Im hungry to win and to fight, that is why I wanted a fight in March, I didn't want to wait much longer. I don't want to waste time..." I think its a solid fight for a months notice and a post Klit defeat. Kevin Johnson would be a tough fight imo. He should stay clear of Kevin regardless tho, he is a cancer in the HW division. His performance vs. Vitali was horrible.
Nagy is a horriable choice. wtf is adamek doing? fight for a world title and then fight his guy? fight grant again or somebody else. why fight a guy areolla koed and tarver had a snooze fest with?? Boring
Several problems with this post. Tarver is fighting for a CW title vs. Wlodarczyk. Chambers is moving down to CW(recent reports stated) Liakhovich is fighting on the same card and had a fight set for quite some time. Thompson? Why would he jeopardize his number 1 status? Chagaev ain't fighting Adamek, lol you on drugs?
It's said his next opponent after this fight could be Kevin Johnson. That would be great fight. Nagy is disappointing. Donnel Holmes is also in talks for Adamek's very next opponent. Think that would be a bit better.
It would have been a solid comeback fight had it been made in December or January, and been followed up by perhaps Liakovich in March. Sad thing is with this card is that Liakovich is fighting a 13-0 guy....great showing last fight but still, inexperienced at even the Clevel. Meanwhile, Adamek is looking for a Clevel opponent while a Blevel guy is right in front of him. Wish there was a way to test Jennings by pitting HIM against Aguilera, while seeing if Adamke still has it by returning against Liakovich. Pathetic that NBC doesn't at least try to make the switch.atsch
It would certainly lend some credibility to Holmes, even in a close loss. Also, it wouldn't make Adamek look like such a bottom feeder on the big stage.:think Let's cross our fingers.:thumbsup
It's a shitty fight for Adamek, but maybe he needs it for his confidence after the ass whooping he took from Vitali. I just hope he does fight Kingpin afterwards and doesn't go on a roll of fighting cans and hoping for a title shot.
Fighting Aguilera is actually better than fighting no one ala Haye. No one is expecting Adamek to get a title shot out of this. Its simply a typical come back fight and probably better than most come back fights, which are usually done against no name bums. Look how many opponents it took Arreola, just to fight Aguilera in his comeback. Its not a bad come back fight to set up other, better opponents down the line.
Aguilera is hand picked name because he lept up the rankings with his flask KO over Maskaev. Similarly, Ding Wilson jumped way up in the ranking with his win over Gomez. And of course, immediately following that win, he was sought after as an opponent by other HWs looking to use him to build thier own ranking. Outside of Dings win over Gomez, and Agulieras over Maskaev, neither has accomplished anything to be considered better than Clevel, which is Arreolas standard LOC outside Adamek and Vitali. And of course Tomazs has a better resume than Arreola with Blevel wins over Arroela and Grant. Timing is my issue with this particular fight. It's a good comeback fight, just a little late IMO.
