Adamek's menager says that this fight is almost a done deal. Fight is planned in Newark or Atlantic City. What do you think? Grant is 37 years old, past prime but very big - 6'7 260 lb with monsterous 86 reach. I think that if Adamek really wants a shot at Klitschkos, Grant isn't a bad choice. Nice tune up fight as Tom wants to fight again in December with more dangerous opponent (title/eliminator?). But he has to handle Grant first... I remember Golota-Grant fight...Andrew was leading fairly on points and he just quited because he felt he was losing it...What a dissapointment it was...
thats a huge step backwards for Team Adamek Whats next? Avenging Golota and fighting Riddick Bowe in Poland?
I dunno, I'm intrigued by this matchup. Grant's a big guy, and could be provide a gauge (tho miniscule that would be, given Grant being past it and not very skilled) as to how Adamek would fare against the Klit's size. If he can't get any of the top contenders, why not?
It's technically a step backwards, but Grant is no give me fight and will be good preparations for Tomasz to face off against someone like a Klitschko. I believe Adamek will knock him out at some point, but Grant poses stylstic challenges that Adamek has never faced before, ergo, this is a quality test to get a sense whether or not Adamek could potentially fare well against a Klitschko brother. :smoke
That's one of the last opponents for Tomasz I thought about, he should win it relatively easy. But it shows wich way he is going... One of the brothers and not Haye.
That pretty much means team Adamek asked Haye if they can make a fight this year and they got declined. I would bet Adamek would have taken a voluntary title shot if one was available.
Adamek will most likely do a number on an old Grant. A stay busy fight. He was supposed to fight only once in October from the date he got from HBO, but wants to fight 2 more times this year, once in August, and again in December. One thing is for sure Adamek doesnt like to sit around and wait.
