It does definitely seem intended with an eye on fighting larger opponents. I bet if they were available, or willing to accept the fight, it could've been guys like Dimitrenko or Thompson in there.
Where did you get the Peter-Adamek info? I've not seen anything on this but it is a very interesting possiblity and a good fight.
I never saw this fight coming. I don't know if HBO is on board with this fight being Grant's best days were years ago but he has been on HBO numerous times so there might be a slight chance HBO picks this up. If not, atleast Grant is a recognizable name to attract a nice gate and maybe a smaller network will get on board. Adamek is a big favorite here, Grant's size, jab, and experience may keep him in the fight early but eventually Adamek wears him down for a later stoppage. I don't see a problem with Adamek taking this fight at all. I'm not overly excited about it but he just fought Arreola and Estrada this year and there may be time for one more fight before the end of the year. Very few top heavies fight 3 times a year and probably none fight 4.
You guys are ridiculous. Adamek's team has definitely tried to get fights with Wlad and Haye. I've read that a few times from different places. They don't want to fight Tomasz right now, plan and simple.... they're too busy "unifying" the titles. Grant is 6"7'. It's a keep busy fight and get ready for Klitschko fight. But above all else it's a stay busy because the champions denied the fight for now fight.
A bit dissapointing but obviously this move can only mean 1 thing and that is he is prepping for a Klitschko fight. HBO wanted to make Adamek vs Haye but 1 party wasnt willing...guess who?
Funny but true. If not for Golota's massive mental lapses, he certainly had the technical and physical tools to become champ.
Haha, that's amusing. Adamek will box his ears off and I wouldn't be surprised if he decked him. Grant's beard is shaky. This is nothing but a warm up.
Does anyone actually know how good Grant is or isn't at this point? You can say he's 38, but he desperately needed to acquire boxing skills earlier in his career and maybe he has some by now. The physical gifts still have to be there.
Hm... Grant all in all may be little bit too easy for Adameck cuz of a long break. What about Ruiz? Despite Haye KOed him easily, he could be quite competetive for Adamec (still Adamek slight favorite). At least Ruiz is active and better name right now.
