I understand what you both say, but I disagree. HBO wants Adamek to fight in December, and as Adamek always says, the more he fights, the better he fights. I agree that every fight is a risk, but if Adamek fights better when he fights regular, then it also means that - providing that he wins over Grant - he will be in better condition in the December fight. To those who say that Adamek took an easy fight, he fought dangerous Johnathon Banks last year 2 and a half months after war with Cunningham. Now he just fought tough Arreola 2 and a half months after beating Estrada.
a stay busy fight is fair enough, i can understand that :good but why not fight Dimitrenko? a much better stay busy fight while getting accustomed to fighting taller guys other then grant. Fighting a guy who you will run through in three rounds isnt always the best kind of 'stay busy' fight... at least have an opponent that will take you some rounds, make you work (while it still being relatively 'safe') and all that. Fighting a grant who will probably not even make adamek sweat, isnt even much of a stay busy fight. But, if it happens, it will be a nice easy touch for adamek after the arreola fight, and hopefully afterwards things will open up with some opponents.... meehan would actually be a good fight if adamek is wanting to fight taller guys for getting accostumed to height. Grant (if hes locked on fighting him) - Dimitrenko - Meehan and then maybe valuev... after that hes about as prepared as he would be for a klit showdown. But personally id just rather see some intreaguing, good, meaningful heavyweight fights... everyone is just waiting around or is playing an angle and its killed the division. But if this is adameks plan then i hope hes at least ready to fight one of the klits in a few fights (but lets be real, a fighter can only get 'so ready', and some point you have to bite the bullet and fight, maybe adamek should just steer clear of wlad and go for haye, a much much more winnable fight with high high reward) anyways, kinda went all over in this post but basically what i want to say is i have to call this fight the way i see it, despite being an adamek fan, but at the same time given his grueling fight with arreola and him seemingly waiting for an opponent i can see the point of view. I dont want to be too harsh as adamek is one of boxings biggest warriors and he rarely takes soft touches like this. war adamek :good
ok, lets assume for a second that dimitrenko is somehow scared of adamek Why not thompson then? hes 6'5'' and is semi relivent in the divsion and on a good streak since his loss. After that, a fight with Meehan (win or lose against chagaev, as long as hes not completely blown out) would be decent 'get used to fight', at least, better then grant. After that, Valuev might be available and that would be another decent fight to get accustumed to tall fighter. then, if being ready for vitali or wlad was the plan, it would probably be time to bite the bullet and fight one of them.
i think this is a VERY interesting fight.....grant is HUGE. all it takes is 1 good night for grant to put it together and he could give ademek big time trouble. i think ademek has the biggest balls of any fighter right now......
That is the fight i wish would happen, makes the most sense too... the winner could fight wlad (or a tall tune up and then wlad) would be an awsome fight, i would love love LOVE for adamek to be the one to beat haye if haye doesnt fight wlad.
You know... Haye can't fight everyone who is willing to fight - this way he'd be busy 365 days a year. Adamek must earn some credit first and then ask for fight. HBO isn't centre of the world, it's the champion (read Haye) who make decisions. HBO can only throw few suggestions which may be considered by the dreamteam - Haye/Booth later.
Would be a great way to make a true US debut wouldnt you think? And since he clearly isnt going to fight a Klit why not Adamek on HBO??
Adamek is still very fresh and too little name in HW. Let him fight at least 3 times more. He will strengthen his name this way and prove that he is worthy facing Haye. Nobody ordered him to be quiet man. It was his choice. There is a lot he could learn from Haye about the Hype and career. This is how the real warrior does.
