The "Andrew Golota" from 1996 could fight and compete with the highest level heavyweights from any era. What happened against Lewis is something that would never happen to Adamek.
golota is so ****ing unpredictable. i mean even when you say prime golota that doesnt really narrow it down because he could win by KO, box to a UD, get KOed or do some stupid **** and be DQed
Adamek isn't stupid enough to get into that situation, before and/or during the fight. That is the difference.
I sometimes wonder about the damage Golota took from the Bowe fights. Physical and mental. Anyone ever see Golota's interview after Lewis, if yes PLEASE post it on youtube.
Golota getting KOed by Lennox isnt that bad, a lot of guys could. Getting stopped by ancient Tyson was expecially when that is considered to be Tysons last big win but many guys wouldnt have gotten stopped that early they would have weathered the storm and got through it. Golota just had bad anxiety problems for lack of a better description, the dude just broke down mentally before the fight began
Golota destroys him. Adamek doesnt have the firepower to hurt a prime Golota, therefore couldnt discourage him.
Sure Golota had more HW skill in his prime than Adamek will ever have (although Adamek is much more mobile), but let's not forget he was also a major mental midget and would simply find a way to lose against a mental Guru like Adamek. Adamek by UD. Adamek is simply too mentally strong for Golota. Its also not clear whether a prime Golota ever had more firepower than the prime Arreola Adamek just faced quite comforably. Keep that in mind if you feel like questioning Adamek's chin vs a prime Golota.
Golota had hit harder then that bum Arreola. And he was FAR quicker, sharper, more accuracte, everything.
Golota was quite a basket case even before that, as evindenced by the Samson Po'uha and Danel Nicholson fights as well as his bar room brawl in Poland. I think after the Bowe encounter, Golota's mental fragility became more of a focal point, which served sort of as a self fullfilling prophecy later on in his career.
