    Well...

    I still believe he made a nice account of himself through the Arreola fight. That was his peak at HW, by any measurable standard, and I think until that point, he made a good account of himself.

    BUT.... I was ringside for the Estrada fight, and I really felt that should have signaled a strategic descent back to cruiser. But the lure of the bigger money at HW, I guess outweighed any would-be legacy considerations. It was obvious to me at that point it was a doomed path that required careful match-making. Even before then it was obvious he was too small for heavy, but that should have ended the experiment.

    :lol::patsch

    I'm burnt, man! A gift, eh?

    Round 4

    Adamek is doubling his jab while orbiting Guinn and putting together 1-2-3 combos from the flanks as he passes. Guinn is reduced to imitating a sundial and picking off what he can with his slower hands.

    10-9 Adamek

    40-36 Adamek

    Guinn is going to get shutout here. Let's just save time and move on to the Stevens-Roman fight.

    Round 5

    Adamek is doubling the jab and showing the high right hand to make Guinn fall back in straight lines. Adamek is circling in close and slaps in a few double left hooks to the side of Guinn's head. Looping right from outside by Adamek, scoring loudly but without Adamek slowing his movement to admire his work. Adamek throws a lead right and his momentum carries him in with the tide. Clinch. Right hand on separation by Adamek. Jabs and hooks at close-mid range by Adamek. Stiff left jab by Guinn, timing Adamek, jostling him slightly.

    10-9 Adamek

    50-45 Adamek

    Yeah, Guinn is losing every minute to Adamek nearly as clearly as Chambers did to Mchunu. :!:

    Guinn is a fighter who has NEVER been able to let his hands go. Just refuses to throw punches and has always been frustrating to watch.

    Even through Arreola, he was missing a lot of that old magic...but you're right, he probably still had the self-belief. Against Vitali and since you can tell uncertainty has crept in and stuck there.

    :conf I had it a draw. Batista was crappy, but Cintron just as bad. Tentative and overly defensive but still got hit a lot, and his shots lacked any crispness whatsoever.

    Halfway in, Adamek has out-thrown Guinn 357 to 129.
