Kathy Duva is trying to get a Wlad fight for Adamek and is not going to put him in there with anyone to ruin that. Now, why anyone would want to see Adamek vs Wlad who knows but with Arreola reportedly going in another direction (per Dan Rafael) Wlad is running out of people to fight.

Either way this is a **** fight James Toney has been irrelevant for years.

But James Toney deserves not to be able to make a living anymore?

Everyone gets old and many people if not the majority aren't as sharp mentally or physically as they were when young. Does that mean they can quit their jobs?

Boxing doesn't offer retirement plans, it's not like MMA.

If he had serious brain damage he wouldn't be able to walk right or pass medical exams.

For all we know he could have had a stroke, but many people have strokes who aren't boxers and never have the ability to decide to keep working to pay for their medical expenses.

Let James Toney make money. Don't try to pretend like you give a **** about someone but then you want to do everything you can to keep them from being able to make money doing anything else.

You wont pay James Toney to give lectures, to do what Mike Tyson is doing. You wont pay him to do what Roy Jones Jr, Antonio Tarver or George Foreman is doing. But you don't want him to do the only thing he is apparently good at, which is boxing?

He's still winning at boxing, so why should he stop? He has a title, he's winning his fights, he's making money. What more could you expect from life other than to win and make money?

If he's not as health as he was at 25 at 45, no one is as healthy at 45 as they were at 25. You don't have to be a boxer to end up with various health conditions. But the only way to pay for or deal with those health conditions is to make enough money to pay for it. Also these guys have families, children, wives, property.

James Toney is not in a position where he can quit boxing for the money. I would join the chorus if he were getting beat and weren't good anymore but he's still good enough to make money and he's not completely shot. He can still beat journeymen and still might beat Adamek. Let him fight Adamek and see what he has left and if he loses then we should be telling him to hang them up.

I can guarantee you Toney isn't making squat for this fight. Dan Goosen said the highest payday he could get Toney right before they split a few years back was 50k.

But if he wins this fight then he's in line for a payday.

James Toney is fighting because he has to. Why not give him the chance to make one last payday? I think it's cruel to deny him that if he's winning his fights.

And no I don't want to see him up against Wlad or Vitali but maybe that Povetkin guy would offer a good payday if he beats Adamek.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Against who? It isn't 1999 anymore. Who is he going to fight for a payday? TV (where all the money comes from for American fighters) is not going to put him on and he can't sell tickets. Where is the money coming from?

James Toney has been completely irrelvant since he was out boxed twice by Sam Peter who has ZERO Boxing skills. None.

What planet do some of you live on? Toney is not going to get a big fight or a big payday. It is over for him.

He has a 'name' is of no threat to beat Adamek and he is getting paid very cheap so that means more money for Adamek. Simple as that.

fighters who fought Adamek said he is generous and give even his sparring partners superb money and living conditions
its good money making opportunity for toney and Adamek need to take some time off,he cannot fight top guys all the time.dont see any health concern here.adamek does not punch hard
beside povetkin said no to Adamek

I don't care what he pays his sparring partners. This fight is so Adamek can fight a 'name' who is of no threat and can make money. If this fight is on NBC Sports they only pay a 100k licensing fee. Toney isn't going to get paid **** and Adamek is not going to share the Polish PPV money with him.

This is basic economics. How some of you don't get this is amazing. :rofl:patsch

i remember omar basile took 50k for fighting szpilka in Poland and he said that it would be impossible to get that kinda money for him in us...
mccline got 100k at least that what he wanted.
for some reason there is a lot of money in Poland in boxing,i guess lot of people follow boxing in Poland....
if toney wants this fight i guess he is satisfied with money
