Adamek gained muscle but just didn't seem to pack on any power with it. Mass just doesn't always equate to strength or punching power. His durability didn't carry up either and that was a huge part of his cruiserweight success. He also was maybe too old for such a move, he needed stamina and speed, but was already 35 before he got his shot at Vitali. He was skilled enough to out box larger slower guys but Norton was an animal who would be all over him. Adamek spends this fight on the ropes being broke down and ultimately stopped. Of the 70s heavies, a younger cruiser Adamek might pull off some interesting upsets. But this older version is all wrong for Norton.
Love Adamek, but he's just levels below here, and doesn't have the punch which others did to bail him out.
Adamek would get his ass kicked. Not a close fight at all. The Jerry Quarry that lost to Norton would still beat Adamek up.
The CW Adamek would be a better matchup than the HW version. HW Adamek was a slug, no sharpness at all.
