Adamek should be the final test for James Toney to see if he can actually still hang.

i don't see Adamek winning by ko/tko less Grant quits on the stool, Grant is still a big guy with a decent punch though Adamek proved he has the chin, the height/reach is whats the interest in the fight and im down to see, still gotta lean towards adamek.

    Michael Grant.

Wow. I bet most everyone here was high on that guy for at least the year prior to the Golota fight. He looked like the real deal all the way. Power, speed, and endurance.
3 of the 4 qualities of an ATG.
    The comes his chin.
    DOH!

Wow, how that Golota fight was fixed. I mean Golota has him beat, the just suddenly quits. I don't even remember if Grant hit him. And that was for the title shot I think. Had to been a work of DK.

Anyway, Golota, Lennox,McLine and Guinn are all medium to large HWs. I havent see in years what Grant looks like, but I remember him handling smaller fighters.

I haven't been impressed with TAs power at HW,(and a Grant KO wont count either), but his athleticism is far greater than the likes of Billy Zumbrun.

This could be interesting. If Grant fights like he did against Guinn, but with a little more confidence, and somehow finds himself on the end of a KO or TKO victory, what does he become.

The preGolota Grant was a masterpiece to watch, but I think his heart was ****. He always got back up when leveled, but his defensive reflexes went to hell when pressure was applied, and he made for a big target.

Somehow though I think Grant could find himself back in the HW contenders list.:patsch:lol:

Oh, man. This fight could have some hilarious consequences.

For the sake of the division I hope Adamek finds a way to win, but if by some chance he can't hurt the "BIG AWKWARD", this could get ugly quick.

If I had to put money on it, I would probably say Adamek by TKO around 6-9. This could be quite like the Golota fight, someone simply too quick for the older fighter, peppering him with shots.

Grant's best chances rely on two things.

    1). His jab.
2). His 'honey punch', the short right (which he tends to throw fairly straight)

If those two things are firing, he can make things very awkward for Adamek. He does have that 86" reach and a thudding consistant jab can keep Adamek away and stop him establishing his own jab, which is Adamek's bread and butter for everything he does. While the short right can stop Adamek from coming in too often.

He'll also, of course, need to have the right mental belief for this fight or that's all for nought. Very important for Grant.

If they're not firing, it's a much tougher ask for Grant as Adamek is quick enough to counter him up close (which is what happened for Grant vs Guinn) and elusive enough at range if that jab isn't landing.

I've actually seen 10 of Grant's 16 fights since the Lewis & McCline disasters. I think I have a better grasp than most here of what he's capable of these days. And while it's not an impossible task, it's going to be a very tough one.

I was sour and taken aback by this fight at first. I didn't even know when they announced it that Grant was still fighting. I'm lukewarm on it now. I say Adamek can last with Grant and will at least outpoint him. I am a little bit suspicious about the power he's carried up with him though.

Grant cant fight on the inside
    thats why they choose him
Adamek has to do very different compared to the Arreola fight
Adamek will get in the infight and blasts him away
Guinn has shown the blueprint how to beat Grant

Grant has zero confidence in his chin. He thinks if he gets hit, he'll die. I never saw the man take a shot, and roll with it.

He's like Wlad used to be X 1000.

Then again I have not seen him fight recently, and don't know where to find his recent fights. I saw clips of the Zumbrun fight, and he looked real good, but those were clips, highlights, and we don't get to see how he looks outside of his working.

Teddy Atlas looked at Grant during one of his comeback fights, and told him its time to reach inside and dig it out, or something to that effect. Grant then went in there got KTFO.

If felt soooooooooooooo bad for Teddy. All that promise. All that skill. With abso****inlutely ZERO self confidence.

I kindof hope Grant finds a way to win. I've always liked him. And I really don't see Adamek having the power to really hurt him, but then again if a fly landed on Mikes chin just right, he'd go down like a timber.

Adamek is being very clever in getting people to know him in America, fighting regional fighters rather than fighting in the tough European market, where he comes from. When he finally has to step up and fight the top European HWs, he'll be found wanting, for not stepping up sooner.
