Tomasz Adamek vs. Steve Cunningham II set for NBC on Dec. 22nd.

Glad this is happening and knew this was in store the moment Adamek/Solis was off the table. A better fight and more significant one than Adamek/Solis.

Good to see a solid matchup, heavyweights too, on regular ass TV.

I see a close decision that Adamek wins, and controversy ensues.

I logged on specifically to make a thread about this. I scanned to see if someone already made one, and saw your thread.

If the rematch is as good as the 2008 fight, it will be a GREAT, GREAT fight to have on regular broadcast TV! The first fight was the kind of fight casual fans, or even the guy just flipping through channels, could really enjoy. Let's hope for another barn burner.

I have not seen Cunningham at HW, so I can't make a decent prediction. I have a feeling Adamek might just steam roll him at this weight, but I certainly cannot offer that as a viable prediction.

On a sad note: Every once and a while I used to mention my buddy Jack who was in his eighties, and had been a hardcore fan ever since Marciano and Robinson's days. The dude actually attended one of the Robinson/LaMotta fights! Anyway, the first Adamek/Cunningham fight was the last time I was able to watch a fight with good old Jack (RIP.) So, I wouldn't miss this one for love nor money!

 

Adamek is still pretty fast but not as sharp as a few years ago.

Cunningham looked quick in his last bout with Gavern, but didn't get the KO. Before that he was in 2 close fights with YPH.

Should be very good. Adamek has a shot at a KO. early or late. If it goes the distance I favor Cunningham to edge it, but maybe not on the cards.

 

This time its Ademak with more experience at the wt. Plus Steve has decline a lot more then Ademak by the looks of their last couple of fights....Eitherway though I'm pumped for this fight. Glad we get to see a rematch!

 

YA great news about the Network TV bit. NBC has had trouble with injuries on their cards....I really hope this one goes off...BTW RIP to you're buddy man, hope this fight, once again, turns out to be a little somethin' special just for him.

 

All you guys making predictions, I'm not knocking ya, but ya might want to think back to how weird the first fight was. Cunningham won pretty much every round except the rounds he got knocked down in! He was clearly the superior "boxer." He just couldn't handle Adamek's pressure and tenacity. Oh ya, and Tomasz also has CHEEEEN!

This honestly came out of left field in my eyes, I've seen no mention of Cunningham anywhere near Adamek.

 

If such guy like Jason Gaven was hitting Cunn w/o bigger problems Adamek will land flush nearly every powershot.

Solis fight would be more entertaining.

 

Watching last of their both fights I should go for Adamek by stoppage propably but...
Cunningham close UD this time. he is getting dropped hard too and will be reeling all over the ring but he will get his **** together and win a war:yep

Adamek will school Cunningham. Think of everything Cunningham has in terms of boxing ability, and Adamek is a step up in each aspect.

 

It was the OBVIOUS fight. MOF, I was not in the least surprised by team Adamek claiming Solis priced himself out soas he could take Cunningham.

They had the first fight 4 yrs ago. It was close fight. Now, Adamek squeeks by Cunninghams close friend Eddie Chambers who had only one arm. Cunningham has a large fan base in the area and has moved to HW. Cunningham is rated by the IBF so Adamek can use this fight in an attempt to climb into the #1 spot if/when Pulev should lose to Wlad.:rofl
