Tomasz Adamek's Matchmakers Are Very Clever

Adamek v Solis on December 22 has been pretty much confirmed.

I must applaud Team Adamek for making this fight. Their timing could not be any more impeccable.

One, the fight is three days before Christmas Day. Solis's mind will be elsewhere as he salivates over the prospect of having an entire roast goose/turkey shortly after the fight. Plus, as the Christmas period will be well underway by the time of the fight, Solis will no doubt have added even further to his bulging waistline by consuming a few dozen mince pies by then.

Two, on October 12, just two months earlier, Solis will be in with this bloke.

For those who don't already know, this awesome specimen's name is Leif Larsen.

FACTS about Leif Larsen:

1. He has a shot put personal best of 18.76m, and finished 4th at the 1994 World Junior Championships,
2. He won several US state titles in both javelin and shot put,
3. He was Norwegian national judo champion
4. He played for Buffalo Bills in the NFL, and was chosen 5 picks ahead of Tom Brady in the 2000 Draft,
5. He benched 225lbs 45 times, and also benched 665 lbs with no lifting aids, less than 50lbs away from the world record,
6. He left this bloke unconscious for 15 minutes:

7. He floored Danny Williams with a slap,
8. He is 16-0 with 13 KO wins.


My personal belief is that Larsen will leave Solis flailing around on the ground like a beached whale. Even if Larsen does not knock out Solis, or even if he does not beat him, there is no way that he will be in a fit state to fight Adamek two months later (whoa, did I just type "fit" and "Solis" in the same sentence? ).

Despite the fact that Solis will pose no threat to Larsen, Solis's amateur pedigree, top 10 ranking with pretty much everyone, and his EVT win over Vitali means that Adamek will receive great credit for what is, in fact, a very straightforward victory.

In conclusion, well done to Team Adamek. Very clever matchmaking. :good:happy

 

He's Cuban, and sadly like most other fighters from that part of the world, only turned pro to feed his greedy and gluttonous ways. That's what communism does to people, I'm afraid.
