    I've seen bits and bobs of this young man and felt he was a nice boxer with movement of upper body. Good footwork and handspeed and variety but my word last night he was sublime until that final blow.

    That was one of the most skillful displays you will see this year from a British prospect.

    I genuinely hope he can come back and go onto what his skill level deserves. As Mr Dave Coldwell said it was ''Cotto esque''.

    His skill level is good enough to go even beyond domestic level onto European and even world if he comes back stronger. He's a tough kid and to get up from that punch was testament to him and his courage. Just got caught with a peach with chin high in the air.

    As i said on twitter last night Derry copped the same from Lindsay. Derry was winning and got caught with a pearler. Derry has showed how to come back from setbacks.

    Well done to both men. Rematch please or get Coyle in with another big domestic name.

    I agree Tommy boxed really well,only thing that let him down was his defence several times he could have been caught by the left hook,so a bit more work in the gym to work on and maybe he can go on to win a title

    Tactically very naive. Was no need to chase the stoppage, was boxing beautifully and clearly up on the scorecards and managed to just walk onto a left from Derry.

    Occasion got to him imo.

    I agree, obviously wanted to put on a show in front of his fans, no need at that stage of the fight, he was cruising the rounds. Bit of inexperience showed. All credit to Derry though, he certainly pulled it out the bag

    Tommy is naturally very hot headed, had to be pulled back a few times during spars leading upto the fight. He needs to reign that side of him in and he will go far. He is gutted with last night but credit to the ref, he will win domestic honours next year

    The guy left his Chin in the air. He served it up on a platter. A world-class boxer simply doesn't do that.

    Glass Jaws exist in Boxing.

    Wouldnt call him glass jawed that was a peach of a shot that would of put alot of boxers out i was surprised he beat the count and also whos claimed hes world class ge is very far away from world class but hes a work in progress which can go far

    Really do get some strange comments on here at times i dont know if they just dont have a clue about boxing or just trying to wind ppl up at times looking for a bite
