Yes ecto, I saw the hard punching Tommy Gomez getting Kod by Jersey Joe Walcott in 1946 at MSG,in the 3rd round. Gomez was a smallish heavyweight [180-5]pounds but he was a rugged two-handed puncher, just a step below Joe Walcott's class. In 1943 brave Tommy Gomez was wounded in Europe several times, and received the purple heart. Today Gomez would certainly be the cruuserweight champion. Gomez won 75 bouts, with 65 ko's. By the way, the Joe Walcott of 1946, 6 years before the Marciano fight, I would give an even money shot against Ali.Joe, was tricky, saavy and slick, with two-handed punching power. Yessir ! Cheers...

Walcott also said that Gomez hit him harder than Louis. This guy might be the Mac Foster or Earnie Shavers of the era!
Walcott was a serious fighter, sometimes erratic but beat some serious fighters of the day and gave Louis and Marciano great fights I too give Walcott a good chance to beat Ali, Foreman and Tyson, not 100% but on a given night he beats them 1 by 1
Good info I like looking up guys that most wouldn't normally know. I would love to see footage of him and more of Eduardo Lausse, a puncher that interests me heavily. I also would like to see more fights of Cuevas uploaded as I take a high interest in him too. I'm not a fan of them but a somewhat follower of their careers from time to time. I would love to see much footage of all three.
