Nah, I only smoke erb mate. I'm stopping when I go on Holiday at the beginning of April, and hope nigh on 3 weeks off the stuff will convince me to stay off it when I get home. Then onto fulfilling my promise to be 'Bob Foster of the Bantams':nut
Jim Jeffries once requested for cocaine to be injected into his broken knuckle, so that he could fight a second bout on the same card.
I thought you was the Eddie Futch of Southhapmton Really? Would that do anything? Did he get it done and fight?
Thats something I'm just putting the ground roots for now. I wanna unify at Bantam within 10 fights, do a Sung Kil Moon and just jump right in. Without any of his ability. Or amateur experience. But an even better chin
The problem with Tommy is that he loved to mix it up and many of his fights became a game of russian roulette. Sure he got stopped a few times but **** he took some massive bombs on the way. He has a pretty good chin - 7/10 :smoke:smoke
I'll go along with this. His chin was better than some people think. Just not in the class of Leonard,Hagler or Duran. Ok,I see the irony in Hearns being the only guy to poleaxe Duran, but I look upon that as one of those once in a lifetime phenomenons.
For me it is true. Hearns gets an easy ride because so many people loved his admittedly brilliant career, magnificent boxing abilities, and warriors heart and personality. But the cold hard fact is, his chin sucked. Big time.
I think his chin was weak, or his legs, or something. His durability was certainly lacking. That's why, even though he had the pysical frame to move up and be a physically imposing figure even at middle and light-heavy, he simple wasn't going to dominate there. Because more of the opponents were heavy-hitting and big enough to reach his chin more often.
His chin was neither glass nor granite.. He was stopped on the ropes against Leonard after, he discontinued to throw punches and was taking a ton of punishment. He traded toe to toe with Hagler, before being stopped.. Bad case of fighting the wrong type of fight.... Got cought by Barkley, who had a pretty good punch.... He could have used a more sturdy chin, but I doubt he would have accomplished what he did, had it been made of pure glass.
