They are about equal to me but both had lightning hands.

SRL was faster at any weight than Hearns was. But at the same time, I would say Hearns timing and balance were better at 154 (!). Their rematch, in my estamation, proved that.

no Leonard threw lightning fast combo's ... and at any given moment can give you a 20 punch combo ... at times at the blink of an eye ...

Doesn't necessarily mean Leonard had quicker hands though, just means he was better at stringing together combinations, Hearns could of had quicker hands in terms of single punches.

They both had lightning hand speed but I would probably edge towards Leonard.

Leonard was quicker with combos, though Hearns was just as quick with single shots.

No, Hearns was quicker... actually I'm kidding.:!:

You've got to admit that SRL was the faster-handed fighter of the two, especially in combination. He was ripping some wicked multi-punch combinations in round 12 of their rematch. Hearns sucess in that fight was with single pot shots off of the jab, especially in the center of the ring.

Hearns' speed tends to get overlooked because of his power. He was faster than anybody at welterweight today, but not faster than Leonard. Never saw Hearns put together a combination quite as fast as the one Leonard threw to finish off Mayweather Sr.
