Hearns had fast hands , realy quick , but Leonard's hooks were something else speed-wise

Nope. I saw both of these guys in their primes, and Leonard was way faster. I think their first fight proves this rather conclusively, in fact.

    Yep :good

People seem to forget how quick Tommy really was because of the illusion that big punchers are generally slow.

Yes, especially considering how Hearns was beating him to the punch the entire fight right up until getting caught in the 14th.

the height of hearns negated leonards superior hand speed

That was a height/ length of jab issue, not speed.

Either way, how did that bout prove Leonard's far superior speed? If his speed was so much better, he'd have been able to negate the jab and reach with it. As it is, taking everything ionto account, their speed looked pretty similar in there that night, especially in the regard I mentioned it(Leonard faster with combos, equally as fast with single shots).

Tommy's Jab was just as fast as Leonard's. Not as fast of a combination puncher as Leonard but how many fighters in history were?

    Tommy's speed was incredable

Hearns was an incredible welterweight, probably the hardest hitting welterweight in history, he didnt have any legs at WW though which made him vulnerable if you get him in deep waters.

Hearns, using his boxing ability & speed, kept Leonard at bay, But when Leonard turned it on, his hand speed was incredible Leonard's rapid fire combo's had Hearns in trouble on a few occasions. So I would have to say on the outside Hearns was faster. But on an inside exchange Leonard had the advantage.
