Bump. Mind, this was before Moore sorted out his health issue (I forgot exactly what it was, but became elite after it). Hearns was experienced when he was at 160lbs and in his prime in terms of his age etc, not that he was as effective at that weight as 154lbs, but he wasn’t damaged by the Hagler fight and he was young, but experienced, I think he takes the 160lbs version of Moore on points, who later became much better when he no longer had his illness.
it was an abdominal issue (stomach ulcers, I believe). Difficult to judge both fighters @160 IMO, given that Hearns had a relatively short prime there due to the punishment he took from Hagler & his drastic weight jump/cuts. If I had to choose, I think I'd favor Moore to make it an inside dogfight & grind down Hearns to a late stoppage. he always had freakishly large & chiseled arms whatever weight he fought @. just another unique aspect to 1 of the most unique fighters & careers in boxing history.
cmon bro .. it was his worst weight, he wasnt superb as a MW 154 .. tie here 147 ,, tie here 175 164 cw with SRL 160/cruiser
I'd take Moore to stop Hearns at light heavyweight and cruiserweight, but not so sure at middleweight.
I really don’t know much about Moore’s middleweight career. It seems like most of his bigger wins came at light heavy and heavy but I’ll let the experts verify that. Hearns did well at middleweight but was also stopped early by Hagler and Barkley so he was vulnerable at 160. I’m guessing it might be a good fight.
