Tommy Hearns vs. Floyd Mayweather Sr. in 2012 ~ Who Wins?

Physically Senior has aged really well, and his reflexes for a man of 59 are quite extraordinary. I tthink he would have an advantage against most former boxers near his age. Take Sugar Ray Leonard......he beat Sr. back in 1978, and is a all-time great.....but if they fought now, you would have to give Sr. a edge cause physically has has kept himself up better and has maintained more of his ability. It's sort of like how a 63 yo Joe Frazier looked out of sorts against a 66 yo Mayor that use to box in the amateurs....one guy simply just aged better physically. So I can see Mayweather Sr. taking this fight, if it actually comes off.

Btw, speaking of Leoanrd and Mayweather....they had a little blast for the past with each other not long ago....

After a five-year layoff, 46-year-old ring legend Thomas "Hitman" Hearns, 60-5-1 (47), returned to the ring and engaged in a much-too-tough comeback bout versus limited journeyman John Long, 19-7-1 (10,), Saturday night at Cobo Arena in Detroit. Hearns was staggered in the first and absorbed an alarming number of solid shots, however, his still world-class power eventually took over. He dropped Long once in the sixth round and made him quit for good after the eighth. Hearns has lost much of his vaunted handspeed and seemed to have trouble pulling the trigger, especially early, but still had enough to overcome the crude attacks of his opponent.


The 47-year-old Hearns (61-5-1) never knocked down the 40-year-old Landberg (58-11), but referee Dale Grable ended the fight at 1:35 of the 10th with Landberg staggering around the ring in exhaustion.

Hearns struggled to find a rhythm in the early rounds, getting beaten to the punch by Landberg. Hearns rallied late in the fourth round, hurting Landberg with a right, but couldn't summon his old finishing skills.

Mayweather has speed, and can pull the trigger.....he's got this :yep

 

Mayweather has stated that he believes he feel's like a 39 yo old now.....his lung problems have seen to go better, and his confidence is sky high after his victory over the UBF champ Zelenoff. I think people are really underrating the fact Sr. has extraordinary hand speed & reflexes for a man of 59 years. No one will be carrying anyone.....if Floyd Sr. gets this shot.....he's gonna make the most of it.
