im gonna pick g-man by ko.

i think he could take a better shot than tommy and he had mad power, poor defence though so i wouldnt be suprised by seeing a late ko for hearns either.

didnt they do an exhibition bout in the early 90's or something like that?

    i'm seeing a g-man ko

has the power and chin but most importantly has the size and reach that usually got hearns into trouble. also aggresion and decent enough boxing skills will let him able to get inside and land somthing.

it's a mix that i think gives him the abilty to catch hearns and finish him

i have to agree, g-man was a murderous puncher and had a real good chin,
hearns was real dangerous and again a great puncher with superb technique,
but i feel at some stage during the fight g-man would have connected!!!!

If Hearns fought smart he'd out-box the guy I suspect and get a mid rounds KO. If Hearns fought like he fought against Hagler he'd probably get stopped.

I think at some point G-man catches him.

He was physically more suited to the weight.

Are you people serious? Hearns wins 9 times out of 10.

Agreed. Hearns was a different level of boxer.

he wouldn't have won it easily but got to say hearns , although we'll never know exactly how good mclellan would have turned out.

Love The Hitman....He's the cat who inspired me into this game....But
Gerald was bad news for him...the guy had a great chin...fast with hand and foot...above average skillz....and the clincher, the murderous power...

I don't see Tommy staying away from the G-man long enough...The G-man was very quick on the draw....tommy had quick hands too...but he would have a puncher's chance on this one...The G-man was bad as afinisher too...Once he taps that chin,Tommy's done.

Would be an awsome war tho'.Tommy would make very interesting.

    Hearns would win. By stoppage.

If Hearns does box then he's chances go up. But I still see McClellan winning by KO. G-Man had the power to knock Hearns out(very good technique with his punches, btw), the speed to catch him, and a very good chin to boot. He's a puncher but he can definitely box when he wants to as well.

Hearns is definitely the better fighter. But this is a styles thing IMO.

I guess none of you have seen their old sparring sessions at Kronk. Hearns used to toy with him, and stylistically holds every edge on Gerald, especially as a technician, which is where Gerald was very flawed and overrated. Gerald had the better chin, which was his only edge.

You dont think their power was comparable, even with an edge to G-man?

I think the fact G-Man has concussive power in both hands puts him on pretty even par.

Hearns is the greater fighter hands down and the better technician but I think G-Man is a very good chance of stalking Hearns and stopping him, even if he gives away a lot of rounds in the process.

G-Man was never a pressure fighter though. In fact with a fighter like Hearns, who was such a dominant ring general, he'd probably be forced to fight on the move looking to land the big shot, much the way he was against Benn from the second round on.

Power would likely be edged to Gerald at MW though, yes. But if you have seen them in the ring together, Hearns just appears to be a level above, and the size disparity is actually in his favor from what I recall. Obviously sparring is just sparring, but I tend to think G-Man gets overrated as a whole, not as a puncher, but as a technician.
