Walker was very skilled and wasn't a reckless brawler some on this site claim him to be( Maybe they never took the time to actually watch him fight and depending on the " hearsay" of others) though he was very aggressive. But in a fight with Hearns I see the same result as Hearns vs Cuevas or Duran. Watch the Walker vs Schmeling fight. Schmeling controlled Walker by the using his jab, followed it with quick straight right hands. That's how he stopped Walker. Hearns was just as tall and had a longer reach than Schmeling with a quicker, harder jab, followed by the most devastating straight right hand (possibly) in boxing history. Hearns would be all wrong for Walker as he was all wrong for Duran and Cuevas. Fighters he simply overwhelmed, though his skill level wasnt on the level as Duran was he DESTROYED Duran. I see the same fate for Walker.

Lol saying Walker was less athletic. Walker was a terrific athlete. He was also as multi-faceted in the ring as it gets. He could box, he could brawl, he could punch, he had a good chin, excellent experience against some of the greatest fighters of all time, ring smarts, timing, judgement of distance, and yes even athleticism. Anyone worried about Hearns power or size should watch Walker box the 198 pound six foot Jack Sharkey when he was past his prime and Sharkey was in his prime. To me the deciding factor would be if he could handle Hearns speed or if Hearns can box instead of trying to trade. If Hearns goes after him then Walker either stops him in his tracks or wears his ass out. If Hearns uses his speed and doesnt gas out at Walkers pace then he could win but my money would be on Walker regardless of what weight class they fought in. In fact, despite the size difference Walker has the better resume the higher in weight they go IMO.

Sorry, but I don't see Hearns having harder right hand than Schmeling. Max was a heavyweight and a hard hitting one.

Hearns in the first 5 or Walker thereafter for mine. It's far from impossible that Hearns could take him out or stop him on cuts. A lot might depend on how lenient the referee was. Walker would never have seen anything like Hearns early power and devastation but he was an enormously great fighter and would start favorite.

No. No. I can't let a "snorkel porker" (look it up. It is hysterical &twisted) like pissonall47 to irritate me. Just another clown that changed his name because I probably "tramped him under foot" [thank you LED ZEPPELIN] in other threads so he tucked tail and ran and returned under a new gayer name to snipe at a legend.
