Look at the Pipino Cuevas - Hearns fight to see the 2 round result.

No, it is not a fair matchup.

but he w considered pound for pound the best in the world once he reached that weight. he was never regarded as the best in the world at 130 or 135. fair point???

I've said this from the begining Hearns is a stylistic nightmare for PBF. You'll get no argument from me.

It was strategy that completely took Duran out of his game. It worked. Floyd's a very smart fighter. He'd read Duran and drive him nuts with his defense. I'm not saying Floyd would win for certain, but it would not be an easy win for Duran, nor Floyd, for that matter.

Hearns was of course longer and stronger but not just as fast. Tommy had explosive right hand that can of course hurt Floyd but he would have to pressure him to land it. And he would have to do ALOT of pressuring. Speed wise Tommy was not as fast as Floyd. But yeah if Tommy landed on Floyd he could do some real damage.

IT took getting beat in the first fight to figure out what to do though didnt it?

Floyd wouldnt even take the Duran fight. Duran is probably top 5 all time and certainly #1 LW

at 147 it would be an even closer fight, but the more i think about the fight and the different styles the more it goes to floyd at 135.

    No argument from me.

Unlike Leonard, Floyd lacks the pop to give Hearns the same types of trouble.

Floyd used to stand and fight more at 135. Look what Castillo did to him? Just think of Duran stalking him ..

No way does floyd beat Duran at 135

i wouldn't class floyd in the same league as leonard, not yeat atleast. leonard for me is still far superior to floyd, look at it closer, who was the better boxer, leonard, who put better combinations together, leonard, who could engage and win, leonard.

Plus, that fight was at 147, not 135. Huge difference.

and look at what happened in the second fight, floyd boxed him, it sure would be a close fight, but for me floyd takes it. i can't hit you for going for duran because it is one of them fights that could go either way, i just think this fight would go floyd's.

It would be boring as hell and if it did get exciting it wouldn't go 15 rounds for sure, because if Floyd stopped running and got brave with Sugar Ray he would be beaten to a pulp :deal

:patsch He couldn't even legitimately beat Castillo in many people's eyes and he's gonna beat someone who's more powerful, ferocious, and far more skiloled in evewry category?

It's safe to say you overrate the hell out of Floyd. First, even questioning Hearns/Floyd when it's clear as day and now you're taking Floyd to beat arguably the best LW of all time who's style would also be hell for Floyd's.
