Are you reading my posts? ... Yeah I have ... I seen both fights on ESPN 2/ESPN Classic ... the second fight was on just a couple of days ago. I seen a good fight, but nothing that disputed what I wrote ... Hearns at a point in time in the fight got tired and was taking punishment ... and after SRL dumped on him ... he got tired himself.
Hearns got hit by punchers when he chose to brawl, like in the Hagler fight where he was coming off of knocking out Duran and was too hot on knocking Hagler out. Hearns could outbox Floyd on ability not forgetting the huge size and reach advanages.
the only thing i want you to find is the post where i said tommy would win because he is strong. because i never said that. i have stated clearly that tommy is the better boxer.
Didn't he get a rib crushing blow that lead to his demise? It was a body shot that started the attack that lead to the stoppage in the first fight. A body shot followed by a right hand ... Hearns took alot of shots ... I never said that he wasn't a boxer, but coming into that fight he only had 1 fight to go the distance ... he had the mentality of a power puncher - KO artist ... with boxing skill. I never said that Hearns was one dimensional or anything like that ... I don't see how his punching and lack of defense would carry him to the victory. He's not going to knockout PBF ... the fight will go to the scorecards ...
Anyone could beat him ... but he doesn't lose IMO ... you can call me a fanboy or whatever you want. I think a fighter like Pernell Whitaker would give Floyd the most trouble ... a defensive fighter ... with speed ... and accurate punching ... he also was a fighter fit to go the distance and fought out of the southpaw stance. But no one that i've seen and i've seen alot of old school fighters ...
The way Floyd mixes up his punches would throw off Hearns attack ... Floyd just doesn't focus on one skill set ... he does it all ... He will throw to the body - then in the blink of an eye shot something lethal upstairs ... the faints will be a factor ... because PBF faints then shoots a leaping left hook ... he will tie Hearns up to prevent the retaliation ... Floyd follows up shots better than most fighters i've seen ... And Floyds left uppercut will pay dividens against Hearns when Hearns is throwing that jab. Hearns has never seen a fighter w/ fast twitch movements ...
Yes, so? You said you were under the impression he was a power puncher at WW. Have you seen him fight there bar the Leonard fight or not?
